Thanks for all your kind wishes -- other than having the flu
while trying to recover, and then having my hot water heater
burst while being unable to lift anything, I'm actually doing
pretty well. They got my staples out yesterday. I'm still pretty
swollen, but it's more discomfort now than pain, and I don't need
any medication to do my daily business things.
Speaking of business, then, what better way to return to our
regular schedule than with a formal renga/renku with a very
Japanese subject. The hokku (first stanza) even includes the
standard haiku's kireji (cutting word), and a kigo season
reference. More to the point, we have a very classic photograph,
of one of the channels in the Asticou Azalea Garden on Mount
Desert Island in Maine with its Japanese-inspired design. This
photograph was from a 2006 trip and I'll probably dig up a few
more in the future.
I also note with satisfaction that more and more folks are adding
the RSS feed to their feed readers, and the @HDNR Twitter page is
also developing a loyal following. More than anything, I think
that makes me heal a little bit quicker. Your loyal viewership
means a lot. Thanks for reading.
