Thinking about where we've been. A funny thing happens when intent
runs headlong into entropy. Good intentions and plans and so forth
are easy to drop when they're pulling too hard on the cognitive well,
and maintaining a practice, turns out, takes more than making a .txt
doc saying, "Here's my practice I intend to maintain starting... now!"
A funny thing happens when history and addiction brace up against a
change. Serotonin trickles to nearly nothing after the first rush of
something new, when the practicality of a platform is laid a little
more bare, and the aspects most vile and foul of the Modern Internet
Experience seem increasingly like alright soul-trades for lessening
the cognitive load. How do I change my local folder again? I used to
know how to do this. I used to be good at this.

For me it's not the pumpkin spice or the sweater weather I associate
most with autumn. As a librarian, it's always Cardigan Season, and
my coffee order trends toward the bland side of things. Autumn is
when my vanity domains renew. Must be I'm thinking about what I have
or have not accomplished over the course of the year by mid-September
and I have a little push left in me to precipitate a little change if
I'm not going to stick the landing. This week, I renewed two:

- //ennui.institute (visit on Gemini or HTTP)
- phantomfuneral.com (HTTP only, for now)

I did not renew:

- //dayton.cafe (though the smol.pub version will remain for now)

A funny thing happens when an idea runs its course. It can putter
around for a little while, or it can just stop.
