The Chosen 03/20/23
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Been really enjoying "The Chosen" TV series. There's a cashier at a
local supermarket who loves it. We had her over for an episode and
some snacks, which was fun. I mean, why not? We also met up at a movie
theater with her, and watched the season three finale. That was cool.

Then, the other day, I met up with a woman who was Baptist, and she
expressed concern that The Chosen didn't stick to the text of the
Bible. I hadn't heard anyone voice such a concern, and didn't quite
know what to say. Sure, it's a dramatization, it doesn't follow the
Bible exactly. Lots of stuff is inferred, and a lot of it is
modernized in sense.

I'm not saying all Baptists think that way. I have no idea how others
thing, let alone entire groups.

I guess I figured we were all past the "King James Only!" sort of
thinking, and maybe mature enough to understand that it's OK to search
for insight and understanding outside one single text. Maybe not? Or
maybe I'm misunderstanding the whole thing.

In any case, it doesn't matter too much. People can do what they like.
