if bwlim is "bandwidth limiting" then it would possibly work but only for what 
gert is transfering to others... it won't do a thing for what is transfered 
between others...

then there's that is isn't coming in that's so bad... it is going out... so 
many copies of the same large files being sent out to other machines... figure 
one 8Meg file being sent to 10 other systems and you're suddenly looking at 
80Meg to be transfered... bwlim would extend the time needed to send it and 
would not help at all... in fact, it may even limit the speed coming in and 
that's definitely not desired...

no, the cows and horses scratch themselves more on the barbed wire used for the 
connection... since they are wet, it causes more line noise which causes slower 
transfer speeds =)
