Alle those big files will I for Linux , MAC + Windows > Is all of this really prudent for FIDONet? I stopped hatching A/V files due to ridiculous large siz > as these ... Janis may have an opinion here (g) YES, I do. I really feel that games especially should be limited to say 30-31Meg, and that's pushing it in my mind. I don't know any linux sysops who do not have full internet access so for them, if they want huge files, they should get them online, not through fidonet. As I've mentioned before, I've decided recently that I won't hatch out any file in any of the FDNs over here (PDN, UtilNet, RAR, WIN_FDN, etc.) that are larger than 30M. I get email requests in every day from authors of games to send out their files in WIN_GAME for game files that are half-a-gig, sometime bigger :(, and I just delete them. Gert is now sending .inf files to let people know where they can download huge files on his system, and that works much better than sending the traffic through fidonet's file distribution IMO. I won't even take the time to do that <grin> Take care, Janis --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1 * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)
