Gregory, Dale and All, GD> Remember when the News was just the News, no left leaning or right GD> leaning. When the first Television Station came on the air in Louisville, Kentucky the News Cast was one man sitting at a small table reading the Teletype printout, and then reading another sheet of paper from the Teletype Machine, etc., etc. I'm guessing back in the early 1950's he was reading from UPI News reports. OR Maybe it was AP News reports he was reading, the Station may even had have Teletype Machines for each of those two News Services. Would United Press or Associated Press been leaning one way or another back in the 1950's? The Broadcasting Company (WAVE) had operated a AM Radio Station for some time before the Television Station went on the air, so I think that their News Department could have had Teletype Machines connected to both News Services. The Local Newspapers printed Articles from both of those News Services then and maybe they still do, I don't subscribe to a Newspaper anymore, I (usually) don't listen to National News Casts on TV because years ago I was watching the News and heard the Reporter telling about a young child being severly injured by another child. Then the Reporter went on to tell IN DETAIL exactly how it was done. If I remember correctly, a few days later there were some Newspaper articles about the same thing being done to some other children in different parts of the United States. Occasionally I will pass by the TV Set when the News is being reported and listen a little bit. But it has to be something that is really interesting for me to stop and listen to the TV News. A Weather Forcast will catch my attention, but I could get that information from reading the Local National Weather Service Office's Forecast on their Weather.gov page. 73 de Ed W9ODR . . ....
