They also found that pollution plays a part, along with age (since older people have weakened immune systems). Take Italy as an example. High percentage of life-long smokers combined with an older population and you get a higher mortality rate. Here in the U.S. they are saying that COVID-19 is impacting the black community harder. But the black community has a higher instance of smoking and poor diet (diabetes is often a problem - and that weakens your immune system). Again, in the U.S., if you look at the "heat map" of the cases you'll see that the cluster around the cities - where people are often poorer, which means that they are less healthy. According to what I've read so far, most of us will get it. But the vast majority won't even know that they had it.
