Hello Aaron,

>LL>Why should Democrats be bothered about it? If Republicans want to
>LL>subpoena the Bidens, they have the power. So what is keeping them?
>
>I got so high on the idea of either and/or both Bidens as witnesses that I
>didn't even think about what you're saying until now. Good point. Why not
>bring them in? Maybe it won't be as hilarious as I thought; the Bidens might
>actually have nothing illegal to hide.

They can do it now. Or later. Or anytime they want. They have
the power. And Democrats cannot stop them. Even if they wanted to.
And yet all Republicans do is talk, and talk, and talk. All talk
and no action. Why is that? Are they so scared they would be
caught out having nothing on either of them that it would make them
all look bad, including their beloved in the White House?

Republicans taunted Hillary Clinton during the Republican Convention
in 2016 with chants of "Lock her up!" - and yet she remains free having
never been charged with a crime.

Now Republicans are taunting the Bidens with similar chants - and yet
both Bidens remain free having never been charged with a crime.

Funny thing about "guilt by accusation" - the American people aren't
buying it. Joe Biden remains the clear favorite to win the Democratic
nomination for President, and every poll is showing Joe Biden winning
easily against Donald J. Trump this coming November.

>But what's taking them so long to subpoena the Bidens is they haven't voted
>on whether or not to allow witnesses yet. They should get on it before both
>Bidens disappear, if that's the route they want to go.

Republicans have controlled the Senate since Day 1 of the Trump
maladministration. Republicans have had the power to subpoena the
Bidens since Day 1 and have chosen to do nothing. They have the
power, but are too chickenshit to use it.

>I don't really care strongly about what they do, but the next Republican
> president is going to have big shoes to fill.

Not to worry. Joe Biden is a Democrat. And so is Amy Klobuchar,
the most likely candidate who he will choose as his running mate.
After 16 years of Biden and Klobuchar, the American people will
have forgotten all about the nightmare they had with Donald Trump,
and then maybe the Republicans might be able to get one of GWB's
grandchildren to take up residence.

Unless Obama's children beat them to it.

>If they remove him, then Pence can only run for 1 more term, correct?

In the unlikely event the Senate chooses to convict and remove
The Orange One from office, Pence would be able to serve out the
remaining term, then run for a first term for himself, plus a
second term if he would be so lucky as to have won a first term.

But not to worry. If the Democrats succeed in removing Trump
from office, they will quickly move to impeach and remove Pence
from office, thus making Speaker Pelosi POTUS. And at age 80,
she would be the the incumbent with the most experience ...
