2019-11-08 - Not much going on
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This week i invested in a new duvet/quilt for my bed. It's a nice
woolen one, and i'm really happy with it. It's nice and warm and i
have been sleeping like a baby underneath it the past few days.

My old quilt was at least 15 years old, and was already a second
hand quilt handed down to me back then. It was worn and getting
quite dirty. So i'm very pleased with a new quilt, and i hope it
will also last for at least the coming 15 years.

Yesterday i've been to the cinema to see Doctor Sleep. Although i
don't think i ever saw the Shining fully, i kinda enjoyed the
movie. It's plenty whacky, and while i didn't like the last 30
minutes as much as the first section of the movie, it was a nice
odd movie. Somehow i always enjoy movies with Ewan McGregor in
them. I also enjoyed Big fish, quite some years ago. And of course
Star Wars.

I'm getting very interested in the sound-proofing building methods
of cinemas. It's amazing how the seperate rooms/halls are so
perfectly sound-proofed from eachother, while the Dolby Atmos
systems in each room violently blast out loads of sound.

It's funny to see that all of this is mostly done by clever
decoupling, flexible gypsum walls and fairly common insulation
materials. I would very much enjoy a tour through the cinema to
look and talk about all the techniques implemented.
