Microwave popcorn
=================

Using the microwave popcorn popper:

Ingredients
-----------
60 grams popcorn
30 grams margarine

Instructions
------------
1. Remove the cover from the popper and place the popper on the scale.

2. Pour the popcorn into the popper until the scale shows the desired amount.

3. Use a table knife or a spoon to drop portions of margarine into the
popper until the scale displays the desired amount.

4. Place the cover on the popper and make sure it snaps securely into place.

5. Place the popper in the center of the microwave oven, and close the door.

6. Press the "Power Level" button on the microwave control panel three times
until the display shows "P 8". Cooking at full power WILL result in burnt
   popcorn.

7. Set the time for 3:15 and press Start. The kernels will usually start
popping when the timer has counted down to about 1:15 - DO NOT leave the
   microwave unattended after this point.

8. When the popping slows to about 1 - 2 seconds between each pop, or if
there is no visible motion when you hear kernels pop, stop the microwave
   because your popcorn is done.

9. Remove the cover and pour the freshly popped corn into a bowl. Add salt
   and/or other seasonings as desired.

Notes
-----
Do not use the "Popcorn" setting on the microwave unless you enjoy the
smell of burnt popcorn!

Using butter instead of margarine seems to make it more likely that the
popcorn will burn. It can be done but you'll need to reduce the cooking
time some and monitor its progress very closely.

Adding more kernels will result in more unpopped kernels, not more popped
corn. The popped corn must be able to bounce around inside the popper, when
it gets full of popped corn and can't move around as new kernels pop then
the popped corn that is nearest to the beam of microwave energy gets too
hot and you get to eat burnt popcorn. Don't overfill it, and monitor it
closely as it near the end of the popping cycle.

Seasoning options might include your favorite seasoned salt, red pepper
flakes, mesquite seasoning or grill seasoning, your favorite spice blend,
parmesan cheese, peanut butter powder, or anything else you're daring
enough to try.
