                         MY TAKE ON MINIMALISM
                        _______________________

What is minimalism
==================

  Minimalism is to get rid of everything you don't need. Everything
  that adds value, fulfillment, happiness and freedom to your life can
  stay. It's not just about things but about your whole way of living,
  your relationships and your mindset. For me minimalism is trying to
  get along with as little things as possible while being as
  self-sufficient and independent as possible. I'm not stingy but I
  despise consumerism. Sustainability is a nice side effect but not my
  main motivation.

Types of pseudo minimalists
===========================

The backpacker
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  - has only one rucksack full of bare the necessities
  - most likely has a room full of stuff in their parents house
The city dweller
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  - tries to imitate Steve Jobs
  - owns only a pair of jeans, three t-shirts and every current iPhone
    product
  - completely dependent on the infrastructure of big cities
  - is never at home

The lifestyle minimalist
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  - sees minimalism just as a special form of consumerism
  - uses it as a means to feed her own vanity
  - everything has to be WHITE
  - her apartment looks like a stage setting and exists only as motif
    for Instagram and Pinterest posts
The van lifer
~~~~~~~~~~~~

  - poops in plasic bags
  - is hit by reality when the van breaks down or gets stolen

The technomad
~~~~~~~~~~~~
  - has given up all his physical documents for their virtual counterpart
  - stores his 10k family photos in the cloud a.k.a. someone else's computer
  - is completely dependent on silicon valley mega-corps for all his computing
  - is a slave and thinks he is free.
