Here's a hello world in the feels category. So, uhh, hello world. I've been looking forward to exploring a bit more of this tilde.club space. It looks like some bits are more seldom used these days, like the feels, but it's still a cool idea, and it's been nice to browse recent entries. I've only been a member here for a few days, and most of that time has been spent working, so today is really the first day where I've been able to spend much time here at all. Got IRC connected from the console straight to localhost... and got banned from the server with a Z-line. :D But I'm fairly certain that was by mistake. I'm guessing it was just an over-broad zline by accident, and I've emailed the opers and we'll see how that goes. I also spent some time exploring gopher sites for the first time in decades. Don't see gopher around much these days. I'm trying to keep my tilde.club interactions inside the tilde.club space as much as possible, so I've been browsing gopher using lynx over an ssh session. I also saw that gemini is a thing here, but I haven't figured out yet if there are any TUI gemini clients installed here. I've been a computer/internet geek for a very long time, and I'm kinda shocked I hadn't heard about tilde.club until now. Especially since I look around at the members here and recognize a lot of people from other places on the web. But I'm happy to discover it now! I actually ran across it while reading an old usenet thread, of all things. Another cool discovery was a direct result of joining up here. I'd never heard of byobu before, though I'm a long-time user of screen, and more recently tmux. I like it, and I'll use it in a lot more places.
