Tomasino is cleaning up[1]. Funnily enough, I've been trying to do the same, beginning with files on my computer(s). In the physical world, I'm generally a fairly tidy person. Sure, my desk can get messy, but I make a habit of tidying it again. I know where things like particular items of stationery, or my bank statements, or rechargeable batteries can be found. This is because they have their place. Files on my computer aren't the same, since in the course of my work I'll often end up creating a lot of new files. Since they're new, they don't always have a place to live. If files belong to a particular project, they go in ~/Projects/Foo/. This works. But what if I'm creating (or downloading) a file that I need for something that isn't really a project? Should I try and fit everything I do into 'Projects' even if they're really small and maybe only have one file? [1] gopher://sdf.org/1/users/tomasino/phlog/20180127-cleaning-up
