In a blog post which I can no longer find, Gordon White, author of The Chaos
Protocols[1], talks about the Lego Block approach to sigil magic - instead of
making one sigil for a big goal, split the goal up into little 'blocks', make a
sigil for each of those, and put the blocks together to reach the goal. Making
lots of little changes is easier than making one big change. I want to apply
this approach to things I'm trying to achieve by non-magical means too. It seems
obvious to split a project up into tasks but all too often my approach is to
just work away at something big instead of splitting it up into discrete pieces
that are achievable in and of themselves and, importantly, small enough that I
can go and work on one even when I'd find the overall project overwhelming.
