# Looking back at 2020

'Tis the time of year to look back on what happened in 2020. It was
not really a happy year...

Let's look at the bright side of things:

* We (my wife and I) still have our jobs.
Although my wife had to work reduced hours for a couple of weeks,
but last month they got a big order from a Chinese customer, so they
  are working normal hours again.

And now all those awful negative things:

* Right at the beginning of 2020 I needed a root canal treatment.
I have never felt such toothache before. Had some sleepless nights.

* We had a car accident. Fortunately at low speeds, so no one got
  hurt.

* I had my first ride in an ambulance. Unfortunately it was no fun.
Neither was my stay in the hospital.

* I had my first abdominal surgery. I lost a lot of blood, but
otherwise everything seemed to be OK.
It wasn't. I developed a high fever and needed an emergency surgery.
And another one after two days.

* My beloved Grandma died. We can't even attend the funeral due to
  COVID.

* On my Grandma's last day my right leg became sore. The doctor
suspected a thrombosis, but an other one said that veins are free.
Now I can barely walk and have to use a crutch.
They do not know what I have and did some blood tests yesterday.
Maybe there will be some news on Monday.

And the year is still not over...
