Yesterday some friends and I finally watched Joker. It is an inten
 and interesting movie.

Some of my friends disliked the movie because it seemed to humaniz
Joker and his evil character too much. I agreed with them on how
knowing the development and background story of any person will
humanize them, but I disagreed with their underlying assumption th
this also meant justifying the behavior of the person.

I also enjoyed how the story depicted the need of everyone to rele
their "negative" or destructive energy. I'm a firm believer that
everyone has their destructive and dark side, but denying or
rejecting its existence impairs the individual. Like a dam retaini
the negative energy, it is bound to rupture and lead to more
catastrophic developments. This is displayed in the movie not only
the main character, but the whole deteriorated social context and
even unwillingly Joker becomes a "leader" in the social revolt.

There is too much in this movie and I want to watch it again a few
times. Unfortunately this is not the type of movie my wife enjoys
I'll have to find some time on my own.
