isn't happening fast or for very long, but it's a huge step up from

It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that what I am trying t
do for myself is to "disconnect from the internet". That's not real
true. The internet is wonderful and I want to participate in a lot
of what it has to offer. I do want to remove myself from the
corporate internet; that is, the dystopia of web apps that track
you as you navigate the web. Like the tools that promise the
world but quickly attempt to monetize your activity and forsake
some or all of the things that made them worth using. Or media apps
that force feed you mediocre "content" created by people just to
serve the underlying algorithm. |

Today I'm making pizza. This is something that I love doing and
it's something that I obsess over. The pizza I'm making today
is Detroit style, square pan pizza, which is great, but I do also
love eating and making other styles. I want to say that I also
make a killer NY style pizza, but who knows. All I know is that it
is a fun hobby, the food tastes good, and bread makes everyone
happy. |

I live with a dog named Gobi.She's a delightfully energetic and aff
miniature schnauzer. As I write this she's lazing peacefully on the
waiting for the Giro d'Italia to start for the day. The tour is ove
has won (with a beastly 10 minute lead), this 21st stage is the cer

I think I've been ruminating a bit too much, but maybe this
resonates with other people out there as well. The internet
used to feel like a place that you explored. It felt like a
place that reacted to your actions and your intentional behaviour.
You would seek out things to read, see, and do. At least that's
what it felt like to me as a kid. |
