*alt-right*

Alt-, from usenet, e.g., alt.comp.sci.

Right, from the division of the political spectrum along "right and
left". This to be examined more closely.

Right implying the one dimensional spectrum of
(Western|parliamentary|liberal democratic) politics

alt ~ other than, superimposed. Requires another dimension, but "right"
in the name denies that other dimension. Instead, insists on the
persistence of the left-right spectrum.

[Digression on libertarianism, anarchism...]

All these lend themselves to mapping along arbitrary axes:
(order|freedom), market (de|)regulation

Evocative of "Altreich", another name for the Third Reich. English
"old" a cognate and translation of "alt". Reich a cognate of English
-ric (e.g. Bishopric), associated with reichen, English cognate "reach".
See also reich/rich, Recht/right(law).

In an abuse of etymology one might translate: Oldric, the reach of
"Time". Not time in the Aristotelean appreciation of all its
undermining straightforward ontology, but the cheap myth of Times of
Old, mined by chivalric romance, high fantasy, historical drama,
fascists.

There is no fascism without a mythos of Time.

I need another word besides Time. Because it is not the time of
philosophy, the concept most rich in aporia, but the "Time" which is
always before, the displaced past never subject to the contradictions of
conjuncture which plague a present.
