Big Catch Up Post
             Many Updates, Much New

So June was a busy month, enough so that I didn't really
think to phlog much, so here is my attempt at a big catch-up
post. It's a grab bag, even more than usual.

First, we kicked off June with the end of school: oldest
finished 8th grade and is off to high school in the fall.
Summer swim for her also started, with the first swim meet
as soon as school was done.

At the same time as all of that, I had some minor outpatient
surgery that laid me up for a few days. Thankfully, I work
from home almost full time, so there was fairly little
impact overall, though I did have to stop biking for a bit.

Then, it was time for summer trip #1, to see my wife's
parents (divorced) back in Chicago. We managed a few days'
escape to a house in central Wisconsin, near Castle Rock
Lake, but much of the trip was spent dealing with all the
tasks neither of them can do around their respective house
anymore: cleaning, small repairs, hosting family BBQs, yard
cleanup. It was an exhausting 10 days, with a few arguments
thrown in (cue my rant about aging Boomers), but was a good
trip overall. Our return flight was on the July 4th holiday,
and we didn't get home until 0130 local time. Naturally, I
had work the next morning.
