The 2nd dose of the vaccine knocked me on my ass yesterday. I got the shot Thursday afternoon and spent Friday with body aches and chills. I slept 12
hours and feel much better today. That being said, it was all expected and only lasted for a very short time. I'd do it again without hesitation. I'll be
moving to night shifts soon, so this will be my last weekend in the daylight hours. I think I'm going to go to a pub tomorrow and enjoy a beer outside. I
haven't seen friends since last summer and I have some catching up to do.

Like many people in the US, on Tuesday afternoon I waited anxiously in front of the TV to find out the verdict in the George Floyd case. While it was a
relief to hear it, I know there's still so much work that needs to be done when it comes to ensuring justice for black and brown people in this country.
And I do believe the verdict wouldn't have happened without the countless hours of organizing by those communities. After the complete nightmare that was
the last few years it has been inspiring to see the solidarity of the people in Minneapolis. High schoolers were walking out of class before the
verdict, which reminded me of the Chicano students who did the same during civil rights struggles in the 60s/70s.

I found out last week that because I am a user of an encrypted chat app I had been given some Lumen cryptocurrency for free in 2019 that is worth some
money today. This spurred an interest in cryptocurrency for me and I started researching it. I'm still not sure if it's a ponzi scam or a fun hobby. The
truth is it's probably a little of both. Some coins are scams and are used for "pump and dump" schemes by the people who hold the most of them. I'm pretty
skeptical of blockchain as well, but I'm no expert. I'll learn more about it when I get time. But free money is fun. I don't even want to think about the
tax repercussions involved with cryptocurrency right now.

Earlier in the week I picked up some Amontillado sherry. I love sherry and it's cheap because nobody here drinks it. It's not the sickly-sweet wine others
are familiar with. There are a variety of flavor profiles. It was nice to sip on it while I watched the snow fall outside the window in the evening hours
last week. We're expected to get more snow later this week, so it appears winter hasn't left us quite yet.
