-==-==-==--==-==-==--==-==-==--==-==-==--==-==-==--==-==-==--==-==- 2/7/23 Weather: ugh, would people stop talking about how -20 F is some sort of one-in-a-generation cold event? In my day, I'd walk from Potsdam to Clarkson every evening for a week and see that bank thermometer never break into the single digits below zero. Skiing is good in some places, crummy in others. Boyce Hill I think is starting to get real popular, ran into a couple groups headed that way from Ward Hill. Good tracks in that area, unlike Meadow Road which was destroyed by boot tracks. Continuing to explore the fediverse a bit. Signed up for a pixelfed account[1], though I only put one image on it. Read an interesting website[2] with several keen ideas, one of which introduced me to jabber, which seems to answer a question I had of finding a service that is not SMS for chat/quick messages. Signed up for an SDF account[3], now just need to sit back and wait for all the chats to come in. Either that or start evangalizing alternative means of communications on facebook and see who I can drag along. Picking up Orca bit by bit, made a patch (code? what's the right term here?) with all the scales arranged in a circle of fifths, seems like an interesting way to play with those relationships and learn about coding at the same time. The midi implemenation is spot-on, plugged my CP reface keyboard into it and it just worked. Fun times when able to modulate based on the pedal sustain and tweaking the dials for delay, chorus, tremolo, reverb and drive. Man, those 100 rabbits[4] make good tools.
