Writing: The "fertilizer" pile
Last Updated: 29jun12

Every now and then, I fancy myself to be a writer. I can be good
sometimes, but I'm not great.
In, and especially outside of my comics, I've been working on
snippets of writing. I've been storing these writings for years
in various notebooks and (physical) folders. I refer to these
collections as "fertilizer" because most of the material is shit.
But, every now and then, a rose will grow. The (lack of) quality
should be obvious to those who have seen the "stories.txt" file.
The stories I'm working on are not all new. Some have been
stewing for years. Some have been completed. Most have not, but
are only one little push away from being done. All of my writing
proves Sturgeon's Law that "90% of everything is crap." To
Sturgeon's Law I would like to add my own observation that very
few people will even see a decent percentage of that 90%. In my
case, I consider that a blessing. Just like TV. If you think that
what you see is bad, keep in mind that there is plenty of
unreleased material that's not good enough to show.
