About Me
========
November 4, 2009

My Name is Rob Sayers, as of this writing I'm 28.

I'm married to a wonderful woman named Karen, we have a chihuahua named mia,
and a rat terrier named Trajan.

I'm a web developer at Megagate Broadband, a phone company and ISP located in
Hattiesburg MS. It's a good job and I get to work with a great group of people

I was born in Tulsa OK but moved away when I was young, I remember nothing of
Oklahoma actually. We lived all over growing up, my dad was retired from the
military and had a serious case of wanderlust (which I now belive is genetic).

We eventually settled in Petal Mississippi when I was 14. I graduated High
School there in 2000. I moved around throughout the state and eventually moved
to Curacao, Netherland Antilles in 2006 for a development job. It's a tiny
island located off the coast of Venezeula in the Caribbean. While I stayed
there only a short while, I met some great people (Kiko ta kiko Diego?) and my
time living there changed me a lot. It opened my eyes in many ways and changed
how I view the world politically and spiritually.

After that I moved back to the Hattiesburg area. There's no place like home I
guess. Karen and I are planning a move to Austin TX this summer to broaden
our horizons.

For hobbies I am an avid cyclist, I am a daily commuter and enjoy long distance
touring. I love to program, I hope one day to get a job doing something other
than programming so I have more time to program. I pretty much jump to a new
hobby every so often, it's a trait I used to not care for, but after years
of doing this, i've found I have a unique skillset from all my adventures
through the years.

I am also a runner, I've taken on a few 5k's this year, and in December I run
my first marathon.

I attend online classes at Western Governors Univeristy and am working on
a degree in IT - Software. I started school at the University of Southern
Mississippi in physics, then switched to religion. We'll see how this new
degree path pans out for me.
