Heat for Days

I live in New England, the Northeast of the United States, specifically in
Burlington, Massachusetts. The weather has been an unrelenting blast of
heat since possibly early June. Rain has been a rarity. I LOVE the heat,
but it's been an overwhelming amount. I live in an apartment with
air-conditioning and that's been a great relief.

In the past, August would be the month of high heat. In the past, New
England would finally get its hot days in mid-August, but when Labor Day
(first week of September) rolls around, the weather would get markedly
cooler. Since we've upended the first part of that pattern, I can only hope
Labor Day and the tilt of the Earth cools things down like it did in the
past.
