I was feeling good, so I ran a longer distance this time. I had to
walk the last 1 1/2 miles because of: a) really bad chaffing (there
was some blood); b) acid reflux; c) cramps in my calf. It was
something of an ignominous conclusion, but it felt good to be limited
by something other than my shitty knees and poor fitness.

This was a very scenic run, too, mostly it was on the trails down by
the river.

I think I am going to get a new pair of running shorts. Until now I
have just been wearing this pair of swim trunks, and I think the
elastic part around the mesh has maybe dry-rotted, causing it to rub
more than it used to. I have not really had problems with chaffing
before, unless it was on much longer distances than 10 miles.

I'm looking forward to trying to get in a weekly long (> 10 miles)
run.
