This blade was thought to have been lost for aeons upon aeons.  Many
years ago in what could be considered a different world, a great war
between angels and demons was waged.  Both sides utilized the use of
dragons and had trained and domesticated them to be quite a fighting
force.  This blade was forged of a great scale of an evil Black Dragon,
its hilt made of the dragons bone.  The edges are honed to such a razor
edge, that when it slices the very matter of reality itself is temporarily
slashed by bright incredible light.  This swords powers lie in more then
its materials, however.  After its inception, which was by the most unholy
of Devilish Blacksmiths, it was fully submerged in the blood of the highest
demon generals, slain in the great battles between the Angels.  After it was
drawn by a Demon Lord from its murky depths, it was immediately thrust into
the hearts of not one, but three holy virgins of angelic lineage, all in
one powerful stab.  The blade became bright white hot as their screams rang
into the Abyss, and it sizzled their bodies around the blade as well as the
hand of the great Demon Lord who had performed the stabbing.  After the fair
maidens had finally passed, it was carefully withdrawn from their once
beautiful bodies and presented to the Lord of Hells greatest warrior, who had
proved his worth time and over in the Angelic Wars.  The blade has long since
been lost from its original owner, and has survived throughout the ages only
through its evil, dark powers within.  Certainly, the owner of this blade must
be someone of great and dark mysteries.

You stand on the western side of the hillface.  The sun has long
disappeared behind thick clouds, chilling the air around you.  Ahead

You've come to a basin in between a few shallow hills.  Down at the
bottom of this small valley is a lake of what looks like clear water.
Before you can get any ideas of drinking from this fertile pool,
you notice the lolloping, bounding beast that is trotting around near
the waters edge.  Its a good thing it is busy drinking, because it
looks like it might be hungry.

A Thatched Cottage~
The fog clears away as you step into this small clearing.  All around
you it swirls and floats about, hiding dangers within its murky white
depths.  In the center of this small circular clearing stands a humble
thatched cottage, with rock and mortar walls, and a simple straw-thatched
roof.  The porch is made of wood and is adorned with jars dotting it here
and there, each of which sporting its own mysterious, strange plant.  The
front door has a window next to it, and you can see a cat sitting on the
sill, meowing at you, though you can't hear it through the glass.  A giant
bubbling cauldron sits a few yards away from the house, glowing red hot
coals adorning its base.  The liquid inside bubbles softly, filling the
air with a loud POP every couple of seconds.  Whoever lives here must be
quite a humble hermit.

A Gnarled, Mangled Tree~
The fog clears away as you step closer to this tree.  When you are
almost standing right in front of it you are able to see it in it's
entirety. Long branches contort at bizarre angles, stretching high
up and out from the tree.  The bark is rough and very mangled, and
seems as though it is almost like an armor on the tree.  The roots are
thicker than your body, and burrow into the ground all around the tree.
At the bottom of the tree the base is as wide as a small house, and is
filled with gnarls and holes.

A thick wall of tress surrounds you to the north and south as your path
walks westward.  After a minute though it turns northward and so does
the line of trees surrounding you.  As the path goes north between the
trees you can vaguely see a light ahead in the distance.

Smee's Lookout~
Wandering down the path the light begins to become clearer through the
fog.  Within minutes you the forest around you begins clearing away, and
you are able to make out a stone wall up ahead.  There is a huge torch
on the other side of the wall, with a large fire lit atop it, serving as
a beacon through the thick mist for adventurers such as yourself.  Situated
below the giant torch a man is perched, his eye fixed above his crossbow,
ready to shoot you if he must.  As you walk closer he begins to recognize
you are not a monster.

Beginning of the Ascending Path~
The path is only about 5 feet wide and it steadily climbs upward as it hugs
the cliffside.  Misty forest borders the right side, and the sounds of hustle
and bustle through the wood can be heard from all directions within it.  The
cliffside is fairly flat but definitely not smooth, rather is formed of rough 
and jagged granite, easily capable of providing deep gashes to those unlucky
enough to rub against it.  The cliffside raises up so high its hard to tell
where it ends and the sky begins.  The forest-edge looks like it is regularlly
tended and kept cut back so its doesn't interfere with the walkway.  The small 
road climbs gently higher as far as you can see along it.  Up ahead it winds 
slightly as the cliffside curves in and out.

Ascending Alongside the Cliff~
Walking along, the forest floor is left behind as the path rises steadily 
higher along the treesides.  Though you are easily over ten feet off the 
ground by now, there is still abundant wildlife hooting and hollering and 
growling from the trees.  An iron torch is racketed into the cliffside,
creating an eerie spooky glow reflecting through the nippy mist.

Ascending Alongside the Cliff~
The trees thin out and become spaced as the path ascends alongside
the bottoms of the canopy.  Sky begins peeking through the branches
and leaves and tops of the forest, and the mist begins to thin as well.
The spaces between the trees provide a glimpse of some of the creatures 
that are within, and what is seen is startlingly confusing.  Great masses
of hairy flesh swings along through the trees, grabbing along at branch to 
branch with its arms rather then walking atop them.  It seems to be 
performing with great agility and acrobatics. Grunts can be heard emanating
from the strange creature.  The path curves inward to the left as the whole 
cliffside winds in gently for about ten feet inwards then smoothly curves back 
outward, forming a "U" in the side of the mountain.  The screeching and
hollering of the hairy beast is loudest at the apex of the curve, and quiets
down as you come out from the bend.

Ascending Alongside the Cliff~
The forest clumps into dense tops and clustered bushels as the path climbs
up higher and walks past the top of the trees.  The sky appears suddenly
above the top of the forest, as well as a short view over the top of the
immediately close forest.  The mist begins fading and the path slowly starts
steepening at a sharper incline.  The path levels off into a small five by five
square platform where it continues out the northern side upward, turning a
sharp ninety degrees from its former eastern direction.  As you turn and walk
up the path the tops of the trees are level with you, then get left behind as
you ascend higher alongside the giant plateau-side.  The mist is much less
dense now and you can see further and further out across the forest-top as 
you walk higher and higher.

Ascending Alongside the Cliff~
Suddenly the path breaks through the top of the mist and it abruptly
disappears from all around you, behind left behind trapped within the
forest and above it only a few feet.  The night sky is enormous and from
high up on the cliffside you can see more of it then ever before, and the view
of the land is stunning.  For miles out the mist expands, hiding the trees
below it, making it seem as though the walkway and cliff extend high through
clouds.  Small orange glows dot the foggy blanket, most likely campfires.
The misty grounds extend for many miles before meeting small hills in every
direction, which trap the mist inside and keep it from escaping.  To the
northeast over the hills is the shores and harbor, and the ocean awaits
over the other side of the hills all the way as far as you can see east and
westward.  The skies are beautiful and the lack of civilizations lighted cities
provide for excellent stargazing.  Among all the bright beautiful stars high in
the sky is an incredible constellation, an enormous diamond of lustrous
blinking stars, with a snakelike tail of half a dozen equally bright stars
extending from the bottom point of the diamond.  The constellation Draco it
is, shining very high above the northern hemisphere of the Southern Continent,
watching over it almost, it seems.

Ascending Alongside the Cliff~
Another iron-forged lamp is bracketed into the cliffside here, its fire
bright and roaring as it burns scorchingly in the night air.  As you climb ever
upward along the cliff face, your view beyond the hilltops far to the northeast
north, and northwest becomes clearer.  It is apparent that the ocean does
not stretch from the east all the way to the west, but rather only stretches
about halfway across the horizon, whilest the continent extends and juts out
into the ocean over the northwest hills.  It must be a peninsula extending
northward into the sea, towards the Central Continent.  To the far northwest
section of the misty valley nestled between where the hills corner and begin
running south something is poking out above the mist.  It is too hard to
determine from here, but it definitely seems to be some kind of dark, ominous
stone structure.  All you can make out is a platform of some sort with three
pillars, one on each side of the circular flat-top, spiking upward from it.  It
almost seems like the top of a tower.  The path levels off slightly as it
approaches another small square platform turn.

Ascending Alongside the Cliff~
The path is levelled off into another small square platform along the western
side of the northern face, alongside the northwest corner of the gigantic
square mesa.  The corner platform provides an excellent view of the
northwestern part of the continent as well as some of the central western
part, and you are standing between the constellation Draco to the right, in
front of the north face, and the tailend of the constellation in the sky before
the western face.  At this angle the western figure is undeterminable yet, but
standing between two powerful figures in the sky and overlooking all this open
land fills you with such a powerful energy it causes an actual sense of your
physical body recharging and becoming alert and less tired.  The unshakeable
drive to explore for treasure and to mercilessly destroy monsters wells up
inside you, regardless of the fact that your not making yourself feel that way.
Perhaps the constellations being so large and so close in the sky are having
an affect on your energy.  Whatever the cause, the feeling grows stronger as
you begin the next ascent westward along the north face of the plateau.

Ascending Alongside the Cliff~
Trailing along the western section of cliff your view drastically changes
from the north side, and an incredible vista of the entire western side of
the Southern Continent is visible.  Far to the north of all you can see is
the corner section of hills, with that tower-like figure emerging through the
mist, and the peninsula extending into the sea beyond the hilltops.
Looking southward from that northwestern corner of the Mist Valley the
hills run along the landscape then curve sharply inward and the ridge runs
eastward right into the central part of the western face of the plateau.
Farther south beyond the hills and for as far as you can see beyond the
Mist Valley is wide open prairieland,with soft and gentle rolling hillscapes,
not anything like the short but steep hills lining the Mist Valley.  As far as
you can see the soft fields extend before deadending into giant, sharp,
dangerous looking mountains.  The tops of the southern mountains
disappear high into black thunderhead clouds, the bottoms of the snowy
peaks the last you can see before they disappear into the thunderladen
stormcloud.  Vicious webs of lightning crack powerfully in the black sky
above the mountains, the dull, soft roar flying unimpeded across the soft
rolling valley and reaching the plateau, providing a constant soft but
powerfully thundering roar in the air.  Something feels quite ominous about
them.  High up in the sky among the many thousands of scattered
luminous stars, an incredible, massively large constellation looks downard
at you and the entire western side of the continent.

A slight hill aside the corner of the immense plateau~
This branch off the path does not continue to go up and wrap aroundthe
giant mesa like the one you were just on, but rather goes a bit north
past it and crests over a small hillock.  On the other side of the hill
you do not know what lies, but above the horizon you can see a flag
against the sky.

Lost in the Fog~
Emerging from the gigantic fallen tree, the entire forest is different
all around you.  The mist is a bit finer, slightly improving visibility.
Dust floats and hangs lazily in the air, and the nippy mist makes your
exposed skin prickle with cold.  The trees are grown very tight together,
forming a natural boundary on either side of the visible path.  Here and
there breaks open up between the trees, and provide alternative paths to
what seems to be the main one.  Plant and animal life abundant thrives
all around you in the cold dark fog.

The path splits off to the northeast, northwest, and west here.  To
the West appears to be the normal path that is the continuation of
the one you were just on, whereas to the northeast and northwest of here
seems to be completely new paths.  You can't see very far down either
one as it is still incredibly misty.

The path runs directly north now, and the trees begin gathering closer
together, narrowing down the road even smaller.  They also wrap in
on eachother much tighter, forming almost a wall of trees on either
side of the road.  This tangling and interwining of limbs only grows
thicker and more complex, becoming more and more solid every yard or
so.  Up ahead there are no gaps at all, and it is practically a wall of
solid woven tree surrounding this far forest path.

The Fog Clears Slightly~
The trees arch overhead, forming a passageway leading into a wide
clearing.  Broken stone structures, rubble, and other debris begins
fading into view through the mist, forshadowing a dark discovery up
ahead.  Stepping out from the tree-tunnel, the ground suddenly flares
open wide in a great expanse, the trees encircling the clearing in that
mangled, twisted, knotted fashion of a wall that they have grown in.
Many of those foul dark creatures meander through this clearing, and
it seems they are bigger now.  Up ahead the ruins sit in waste, long
ago broken and conquered, their great gray stones split and strewn across
the clearing.

The path continues to the west of here, stretching onward between the
forest.  It seems to divide this great thick wood into two, one on
one side of the road and one on the other.  It continues for as far
as you can see, and from what you can tell there is no other intelligent
life anywhere near you.  All around the very loud happenings of animal
life can be heard, and wind is also rushing, howling through the tree
tops high up above.  It is very chilly in this deep forest.

A fortified gate~
You've come to the end of the path and are now standing at a deadend.
The forest still continues on your left, and you can see it continues
deep to the west.  To the east you can see a stone building with guards
outside of it, guarding its doorway, as well as perched on top with
bows, ready to strike down any would-be opponent.  The guard station
connects to the giant gate that stands in front of you to the north.
The gate in itself looks quite intimidating, let alone well fortified.
It is made of strong looking branches and brambles all intertwined,
with stones placed here and there, wrapped up tightly within the wood.
Lining the front and back of the fence is stretched animal hide, pulled
tight to make the giant door look smooth.  Here and there sharpened
branches erupt through the canvas, spiking menacingly towards you.  The
tops of the branches likewise have been sharpened as have the bottom,
making the gate itself look like a great fanged beast of architecture.

The guard station~
You've entered through the doorway to the east and are in a small room
that is a holdup for guards.  Perched at the two windows in the walls
are crossbowmen, and the only things in the room are a table laden with
papers, a dagger, some lamps, a helmet, and other clutter, and a chair
on the far side of the table.  There is a door to the north and a ladder
on the far side of the room, leading up to a hatch which probably leads
to the rooftop.

Guard Office~
This room is quite different from the first section.  It has decoration
as well as a red carpet, and seems to be suited more to the taste of a
bearucrat instead of a soldier.  On the far side of the room against the
wall is a shelf adorned with silver cups and various fine spirits all in
crystalline glass pitchers.  There is a short, bald, bearded man here in
simple brown robes, his nose pointed down at his paperwork that he seems
to be concentrating very hardly on.  On either side of him stands a giant
guard, who seem to be doing more standing then guarding.  The only door
in this room is to the north, and from the window next to it you can see
it leads outside into a town.

Outside of Census Office~
East is the road that lines the southern edge of mistvale town, and
North is the road that runs along the western edge of town, but in
between the town and the barracks that is west over a fence that lines
the entire western side of town.  Looking Eastward, the road is very
simple and straight-through for a small distance, and it lines the south
bottom edge of a cliff!  Looking up the cliff it is not very tall, only
about twenty five feet, and at the top of it there are structures.  This
road wraps around the bottom of this small plateau and probably connects
to the top on the eastern side.  The northern road appears to run along
the barracks fence.

Rax Road~
The road runs northward away from the entrance of town.  To the
immediate west is a well built wall of wood, with a doorway in this
section.  The wall runs along the entire length of the road northward,
and you can hear skuffling and brawling taking place on the other side.
Here and there through the small gaps between planks you can make out
figures shuffling around in combat.  The road continues north with two
intersections up ahead.

The road rounds along the very border of the town of mistvale, and it

Intersection of Rax Road and Market Road~
The road intersects another here and forks off into a northern road
and an eastern road.  The north road continues to the edge of the fence
lining the western side, then appears to wrap east at another intersect
further up the road.  From what you can tell to the east the road runs
between buildings and tons of tents and merchants flood everywhere.  Behind

Rax Road~
The road is well built, laid of evenly paved stone.  To the west is
the same well built fence, however an arched wooden gate, small yet
fortified as well as heavily locked, is built into this section.  The
sound of scuffling can be heard from the other side, indicating there
are many people in the barracks.  To the North the road ends rather
abruptly and turns a sharp right and begins to head east.  To the south
lies the intersection of the Rax Road and the Market Road.  The road
also continues further South and leads out of town.

Approaching the Giant Tree~
The road junctions off here and divides into three directions.  To
the northwest it widens out and fishbowls into a small courtyard, which
houses a gigantic tree, the likes of which you have never seen before.
The court is fenced in from the rest of the city, making it have a feeling
of seclusion and serenity.  To the south the road turns more into a path
and appears to break away to the west up ahead.  To the North the road
wraps around the court yard and continues to the west.

Rax Road Ends~
The road ends here at the edge of a vertical cliff.  It is very far to
the bottom and appears to only have dirt and jagged rocks strewn about
at the bottom.  Falling or straying away from this road could be quite
treacherous.  The road runs East of here along this great cliff edge,
and also turns and runs south along the edge of the barracks fence,
eventually leading out of town.  The view from this cliff is simply
magnificent, with great lazy clouds floating in the skies above and
birds soaring freely.  It is something incredible to behold.

Road wraps away from cliff~
The road runs to the east and strays further and further from the cliff
edge as it goes.  You are still offered quite a magnificent view though
as you continue along.  It appears to just continue to the East, and up
ahead it begins to wind slightly.  Looking out over the cliff edge you see
far to the North, to the Eastern base of an enormous mountain range which
lies far from here.

Cliffside road~
The road continues east and west here and is about twenty feet from
the cliff side.  The view hasn't changed much, but up ahead apparently
the road starts to wrap and wind and strays much closer to the cliff.
Up in the distance you can see buildings begin to line the southern edge
of this road.

Road lining cliff edge~
The road wraps towards and away from the cliff edge for a moment, then
begins getting very close to it, to the point where it is perilously
perched upon the very edge and there is hardly a foot of clearance.  It
is scary for a moment but after this hazard it appears to be very smooth
sailing up ahead and it nicely and cleanly wraps and winds away from the
cliff and doesn't go towards it anymore.  The buildings begin at the point
in the road where it is right along the cliff, and there is just a small
tent at first but next to it appears to be a very large mason stone building,
with smokestacks rising out in various parts through the ceiling, orange red
heat glowing in the windows, and a very burly of a man standing outside holding
what appears to be a scorching red hot blade.  It must be a blacksmith forge!

Mistvale Blacksmith~
Fine weapons and armors hang all over the walls of this room.  A man
stands behind one of the counters with a smile on his face, ready to
provide you with equipment.  To the North of here you can hear the
roar of mighty bellows and a great furnace, as well as see the orange
glow radiating off the walls.

Main Forge~
The room is lit by a great furnace built against one wall, which is
fed by two enormous air pumping bellows built along its sides.  A great
forge and kiln is built into it and it looks like a very fine metal
forging station.  All over the room are scraps and bits of metal as
well as projects in development.  The great forge room continues to
the East and you can see another source of brilliant orange light splashed
against the walls over there.  To the north is a big open door to the
outside, providing ventilation and some light.

Approaching cliff edge~
The road begins approaching precariously closer towards the edge of
the cliff.  Southeast of here, to the south of the road, an enormous
tree can be made out sticking up above any structures around it, standing
beautifully against the sky.  As the road runs more west it appears to
get closer to the cliff edge.  The view north from here is simply magnificent
and you can see all the way across the valley far the hills beyond in the
north.

Road Rounds the Giant Tree~
The road wraps and turns here, finally running away from the cliff edge,
and back to complete safety.  To the southwest of the bend looms an
incredible tree, its great canopy soaring high into the sky and expanding
outward magnificently.  From its weathered, rough bark it is apparent that
it is very old and has probably beared witness to many incredible things
in its day.  The sound of murmuring from the courtyard around its base can
be heard from this section of the road.  Up ahead the path winds around
closer to this court yard and probably connects to the entrance.  It also
runs Northwest along the edge of the town as well as along a severely steep
cliff edge.

Road Rounds the Giant Tree~
The cobblestone road continues northwest and south, rounding a huge
gigantic tree which stands up prominently over a small fence bordering
the road.  It is enormous and blocks alot of your view to the southwest.
People hang in the courtyard around the tree, and children run around
playing in its midst.  Lining the other side of the road are houses
and apartments, all bunched together and constructed of crude shabby
brickwork, but still decent and liveable.

Edge of Mistvale Village~
The road wraps around right here and runs West or North.  To the North
immtalk runs along the very eastern edge of mistvale, passing by a gigantic
tree, and appears to wrap westward at some point up ahead and runs

wrap slightly into a three way intersection.  There is nothing but forest
all to the east and south of you, all outside of the north, west, and east

Adventurer Supply Store~
A small little hut that is thrown together but not in slipshod fashion,
this merchant seems to be a semi-permanent addition to this marketplace,
rather then a constant changer and migrater like some of the other, less
permanent structures around here.  The walls are simple metal sheets,
with no adornment.  The ground is simply the same dirt that lies beneath
the rocks of the road outside.  Inside the cabinet between the merchant
and you is a myriad of different tonics and salves, and many plant mixtures
and tinctures.  Behind the merchant on the wall on seperate shelfs, each
item on its own shelf, are slightly rarer looking acoutrements.  The shop
keeper stands behind his counter with both hands atop it, enormous and
almost reaching each side of the counter.  The merchant himself is an
incredibly corpulent individual, with legs like thick tree trunks and
arms as such too.  With a wild mane of hair and an incredibly long moustache
and beard to go with it, he certainly looks to be the incredible mountain
man that gathered all of these wares as well.

Wizards Wares~
This room is very dim, lit by only a few seldom torches mounted in
brackets on opposite walls.  Simple wooden counters line the side walls,
and a few tables are scattered here and there about the room.  It seems
every available surface from them is almost completely overtaken by books
scrolls, trinkets, and all manner of strange object.  Near the back of the
store, fumbling amongst some shelves, muttering to himself condescendingly.
He doesn't appear to have heard you come in, and continues working on what
ever it is he is doing, the tip of his long wizards cap and long beard
swaying left and right as he shuffles around the shelves.  His big blue
funny looking robes impede alot of your view of what exactly he is tinkering
with.  In a flash he realizes your existance, and pivots around so fast his
robes, hair, beard, and hat all flail out behind him in a mystifying magical
wind.  He stares down at you with an elder glare of power, as if inquiring in
to your very soul, his cold gray eyes set and sunken deep in his piercing glare

Market Road~
The path wraps around a hillside southward and westward and trails
west between buildings, all atop a small cliff-edged plateau.  The
streets are very busy and there are dozens of people hustling and
bustling about, from merchants trying to peddle their wares, parents
tending to children, couples in romance, to bullies bullying little
weaklings.  All manner of people are here in the market district of
of the market.  To the south of here lies the intersection with the
road that wraps up around the east side of mistvale as well as the
south side of the edge of the hill that you are now on.  To the west
sprawls the busy market, which goes on for further then you can see.

Xouwasi, Fine Clothier~
This is a very clean and well kept shop.  All over the walls are works
in progress and many fabrics of varying color and texture hang from
the ceiling, where gigantic rolls are mounted.  The owner of this humble
establishment is hurriedly working behind a counter, frantically mumbling
to himself about something.  It seems he is in a huff over his work, for
making such beautiful clothes must be a very demanding profession.  In
the front of the store laid out on a table are some finished pieces that
definitely are very beautiful and well made.

Ascending upward ever higher alongside the great mesa~
You are so high on the path alongside the plateau that the wind threatens
to knock you off the edge.  Far below you the dense fog swirls and floats
about throughout the giant canyon.  To the immediate northeast there is a
great hill that you could not notice on the lower path back west, it seemed
like just another hill far off in the distance from that lower vantage point.
But from up here the roofs of buildings can be seen, and a flag rises up from
one of the buildings above the horizon-edge of the hill.  The stars are bright
and seem almost as though they are painted against a ceiling of black thats how
close they seem.  Up ahead the path turns once again southward and lines along
the western edge of the plateau.  The top of the plateau can now be made out,
and you can see the edge where it runs along the sky, many stories higher then
where you currently are.

Another turn in the treacherously high path~
The thin dangerous path grows precarious at this turn, and the wind
whips so strong around the corner that it threatens to blow you right
off the side of the mountain.  Gripping the wall for support and leaning
into it for dear life, you manage to step around the corner very carefully.
Aside from hanging on for dear life, the view here is simply something to
behold.  For as far as the eye can see you can see far to the west, north
and everything in between.  Far to the northwest of here the hills surrounding
the valley rather then turning and cornering and heading south, rather break
into two sets of hills that both run parallel to the north, indicating some
kind of valley far up there!  They run to the north and wrap around and then
begin their run south and run far south, creating the southern edge of the
misty valley.  There may be something far in that northwest valley!  Up ahead
the path begins to widen out a bit once more, straying away from the incredibly
dangerous thin piece of eroded crap you just now had to shimmy over.  The very
top edge of the plateau finally becomes visible!  It is incredible to see the
edge of earth against the clear blue sky, it seems as if the two are almost one
and the same, simply connected by a line.  It is a beautiful sight to behold.

The Trapdoor~
The floor is very far below, and the ceiling has funnled inward to the
width of the small trap door, cramping you in here as you try to figure
out how to open the door.  Spells cast upon the door and the keep itself
zap and tingle with your spells as you float there at the door, zapping
you in shock every few seconds as it manages to get a bolt through your
spells.  Whatever is beyond this door it is only meant for authorized
personnel only.

Ascending upward ever higher alongside the great mesa~
The path continues upward as it has, with hardly any change.  From the
cliffside mangled roots and dead undergrowth jut out randomly, baked
hideously after years of sun exposure.  When you gaze far out to the west
across the great expanse of valley, you see hills in the distance all the
way to what seems to be a small inlet of water on the north side of the
continent, and beyond that a peninsula jutting far northward further
then the eastern side of the inlet juts north.  What lies in that direction
you can only wonder and make a mental note that you must explore outward
to the west one day and see what is located on this far peninsula.

The final, windy turn~
The final turn in the path, the wind whips violently around it,
creating a cyclone-like pull that threatens to rip you right off the
side of the mountain, with a one way trip to the ground hundreds of

Market Road~
This section of the road is much more crowded.  People huffle and
shuffle past, some with crowds, some with carts, and some with who
knows what.  To the north of here is a moderate seeming building, standing
straight up and sticking out compared to all the ragtag thrown together
shops that are built all along the marketplace.  A small sign hangs above
the door, with big letters reading "Clothier".  To the south of here is
another equally well-built building, however much smaller.  It is a very
small shop that has a picture of a diamond, a rupy, and an emerald on
a sign, indicating precious jewels.  The marketplace continues both
east and west of here.

Market Road~
The road continues east and westward.  To the northeast is a humble
little hut of a merchant, selling useful supplies for the would-be
adventurer.  Also to the south of here is a rather goofy looking tent,
decorated in a bright variety of colors and odd shapes.  It must be
something having to relate with magic.  To the east of here lies more
marketplace, whilst west connects with Rax Road.
The road continues to the east and west.  To the North is a very humble

Market Road~
Thestart of Market Road, it stretches far eastward where it intersects
with with another road far east of here.  Immediately north is a humble
blacksmith shop, and the heat from his bellows and roar of his fire
can be heard.  The ringing of hammer on metal rings throughout the
air.

The top of the Immense Plateau~
The incredibly long and ardous uphill trail has finally ended, and
it connects to the side of the flat, level top of the enormous mountain
of a mesa.  East and West for roughly a hundred yards or so is flat
brown rock, with random weeds popping up here and there across its
otherwise bare expanse.  Up ahead to the north an incredible fortress
of enormous grey quarry stone stands imposingly atop the plateau.  Its
great stone walls span high and wide across the mountain, from edge to
edge and very high up into the air.  The walls are enclosed and built
into the ceiling of the lower portion of the keep, so it is a very large
enclosed tank of a fortress, and from the horizontal ceiling of rock
connected to enormous outer walls looms the walls of the inner chamber,
and atop that it concaves inward even further to form the beginnings of
a tower of sorts.  Up from that third tier arises a fourth even thinner
square of the enormous grey block, rising into the air like a tower.
Standing atop that seeming very tiny compared to the great mass below
it stands a very small, almost single-room like chamber, with a pointdd
cone roof, a flag sticking out the top of it.  Birds soar overhead cawing
into sky.  At night there are no birds though, only bats.  The front of
the keep as well as the great window near the top of the central rise
faces directly south, which the immense, humongous mountains that are
plagued by thunder and darkness lie.  Perhaps they face there in opposition
to some threat ancient threat...?

Before the Great Keep~
A massive keep rises up high into the air atop the giant mesa.  It is
as wide as the entire top of the mountain, and looms ominously hundreds
of feet up.  The higher up on the keep the narrower it gets, concaving
into one final, imposing tower standing high above the fortress below,
overlooking the entire continent in every direction.  The keep is constructed
of enormous blocks of granite, some of which are bigger then a man, and must
weigh thousands of pounds.  It seems as imposing and impenetrable as the
great mountain itself.  The great oak doors are embossed with decoration and
trimmed in gold and silver, weaved in intricate designs of vines and creatures.
Over fifteen feet high and very wide as well, it certainly is fitting for
such an extravagantly powerful keep.  In every gap between the stones atop
the front wall a crossbowman is aiming directly at you should you try anything
in their midst.  Very high near the very top of the keep, it is so far you
can barely see, but it almost looks like there is some kind of winged guard,
a birdman of some type, patrolling back and forth before the tower.

Base Courtyard~
On the other side of the enormous stone wall is a courtyard market
of sorts.  Pitched all around are tents of various shapes and sizes
as well as rigged together tarp or fabric walled structures that also
serve as merchants' little shops.  In the very center of the courtyard
a very tall but sleek tower protrudes up from the Earth, extending and
sticking up high against the clear blue sky.  The very base of the tower
has wide open sides, providing easy access underneath it, however there
does not appear to be any kind of a staircase or ladder going up inside!
It would appear from this side to just seem one long hollow tower...

Supplies~
The northeastern corner is an austere brown toned room, with faded
yellow walls and brown wooden cabinets and tables all over the place.
On top of the tables is great quantities of different herbs and other
ingredients of potion making.  Near the back there are potions on the
tables.  A woman in light battle-armor stands behind a counter, running
the store.

Potions and Magic Items~
In the southeast portion of the annex is a small booth alcoved into
the corner, rather then an entire room like the other three sections.
Just a simple, small, windowed booth is here made of stone and ran
by a small old lady on the other side of the window.

WeaponsDepot~
The southwestern corner appears to be very organized and well placed.
High quality blades and other weaponry are well stocked and displayed
and apparently are well taken care of.  Every available counter has
weapons on top, on shelves inside, and the floors even have stacks of
other weapons here and there.  This is a very well supplied fortress
apparently.  From behind a small counter a tall man stares.

Armory~
The northwestern corner is loaded to the brim with armors of all kinds.
Every wall practically is filled in with armors hanging on racks stacked
atop eachother horizontally, they definitely have something for every
warrior it seems.  A squat burly man with a very grizzled moustache and
balding head scoffs at you from behind the counter.

Inside the Ancient Keep~
The trapdoor precedes a lobby of sorts in what seems to be a militaristic
headquarters.  Though you are high above the rest of the wide open keep
outside courtyard below, inside of this room it feels as though you are
on the ground in a regular keep, not many dozens of feet above the ground.
Emerging in the center of an intersection, there are birdmen patrolling
in and out from every direction on a regular basis.  Each is fully armed
and ready for action, with a longsword at the hip and a shield on their
forearms.  However it seems they would not even need the blade, as their
mighty clawed talon-feet appear as though they would rake deep into a mans
face.  High above above on the northern side the wall does not go all the
way up to the ceiling, but rather levels and tiers off about halfway up,
indicating that another room is atop the other one, like a giant loft.

Office of the Guard~
The main office of the avian guard, there is little more in here then
a desk and chair.  Two enormous windows against the back wall provide
an excellent view very far out across the continent, and down the keep
and cliff side.  An armoire with a gigantic padlock across it sits against
the eastern wall.  The desk is very immaculate and only is adorned with
a stack of clean unused paper and a quill.  The chair is very large and
seems very comfortable, with a nice giant log built in between the legs
down near where the feet would be.  Must be for an avians gigantic talons
to clasp onto in comfort when sitting at their desk.

Gripping the West Face~
The treacherous path begins to get quite windy as you ascend up its 
high walkway.  In short, great bursts the wind rips by, howling in
your ears and pushing you towards the edge.  Here and there you must 
shuffle back against it and hug the wall.  Birds caw randomly as they
soar alongside the plateau for an instant in their great journey through
the skies.

Guard Station~
The eastern branch of the intersection is a moderate sized room that
has about a dozen or so very large avian militia relaxing and apparently
enjoying some leisurely relaxation time.  There are great windows outside
overlooking far across the entire continent.  The view is simply magnificent,
and you could stay looking forever.  Panning your view from right
to left you see at first the far reaches of the misty valley below
to the southeast, your view rolling northward along the line where
the mist filled foresty valley and brown-dirt hills meet, scanning further
to the left of the window until at the far left side you see far to the north
east of here.  The hills and valley-border curve and wrap westward, and in
the corner-of-sorts you can swear that a wicked spiked-shape tower-top is
barely poking out over one of the small hills.  Its not fully easy to
make out, but if that is what it is, it must be the top of something
dark and mysterious!

Guard Station~
West of the intersection is a relatively small alcove about 20 feet
wide, and a small handful of well armed bird soldiers are stationed
here, casually awaiting any sign of a threat or to be beckoned.  A torch
resides in the bricked wall, providing light to the intersection and
alcove.

Holding Cell~
South of the main intersection of the avian section of the keep, this
particular branch is very shabby and ill decorated, quite unlike the
rest of this magnificent birdman headquarters.  A very tall, particularly
gaunt bird soldier is here, guarding a very thick set of steel bars behind
which you can make out something is being held captive.  However it is
quite dark right here and even with your light it only barely casts shadows
on the figure in the corner, whoever and whatever it is is clothed under
multiple sheets as well.  Considering the proximity to numerous groups
of soldiers and all the barracks close by, this must be a very high threat
holding facility.  Whoever is being kept in there, must be in there for good
reason.

The Avian Throne~
The throne room of this immense plateau-fortress, it certainly is
something to behold.  An incredibly lush red carpet rolls out atop
a beautiful red-wood floor, the wood must be nice on the birdmens feet.
Gold-portraited works of art line the walls, all depicting heroic,
glorious avians of old in marvellously epic battle scenes.  Though
they are not of your kind, they are striking works nonetheless.  Gold
torches line the walls, kept burning constantly by magic.  On either
side of the plush carpet stands the first file of the avian elite, 7
soldiers on each side standing in perfect discipline, eyes straight ahead
in anticipation of impending orders.  Each not only is physically the
best of their kind, with great bulging muscles and claws, talons, and
beaks that all appear to be razor sharp and capable of rending flesh
to shreds, but are also strapped to the gills with an incredible great
sword across their back, a longsword on each side of their hip, various
knives of different lengths and shapes between said longswords lining
their hips, a mace taking place of one of the knives in some random
spot of the sequence.  They also carried a great shield, taller then
a tower shield but not rectangular shaped, it was more like a elongated
diamond, and from the looks of it would be quite effective at guarding
blows.  Certainly these are not any warriors to be trifled with.  At
the head of the carpet stands the biggest and baddest of them all, the
incredible king of the avian kind.  He stands with worry in his elderly eyes.

Kings Personal Chambers~
Through an arched doorway behind the throne you enter into the private
residence of the avian king.  It is very unlike a human abode, and is
like an incredibly open, airy yet luxurious suite.  With great big gaping
splits in the walls around, it provides very easy access for one to just
jump or fall out of into flight.  There is a very giant debarked tree
on one side, curving graciously upward and downward in a tight crescent.
This must be for the bird king and his lovers or acquantances to perch
upon.  Against the opposite wall is a bed/nest of sorts, it appears to
be straw, wood, and incredibly fine linens, shredded however, all tangled
together into what doesnt seem too comfortable, but must be extremly
comfortable if you were a bird-man hybrid.  Other then that there is not
too much to this room.  There is a simple desk along the outer most wall,
between the two great openings to the extremely windy outside.  The wind
whips incredibly vicously through the room at points, so much that it
almost feels like it will sweep you away.  You gather that you are probably
about 2 miles above the forest below, and can see for very far out the two
giant gapes in the stone.  There is a small chest atop the desk, and a
slim drawer in the center beneath the tabletop.  It is very simple and
does not seem to be intended for show or luxurious purposes.

Astronomical Observatory~
The very top of the tower overlooks the entire continent in every direction
magnificently.  All around in three hundred and sixty degrees there is a clear
unobstructed view across the entire continent.  Far to the North you can see
hills that border the Misty Valley, with nothing but far open ocean on the othe
side.  To the far south are incredibly large, sharp mountains, with dark
jagged peaks, and heavy ominous clouds of black that obscure the horizon and
shroud the vicious peaks.  Bright lightning cracks all thruoughout the dark
thunderhead cover.  It appears as though there is a large mountain on either
side of a small valley that would appear to be the seat of power for whatever
resides in that dark region.  The room itself is very simple, just a stone
chamber with wide open windows and a small chest off to one side.  A telescope
sits propped up in the center, and it can be spun in a complete revolution
allowing for ultimate viewing.  This is quite a lookout tower.

West-Side of the Front-Face of the Fortress~
Your on the western side of the immense fortress of grey stone, and its
sheer massiveness is astounding.  It sits atop this great rock as though
it is the very top of a mountain, as though literally part of the mighty
earth itself.  From a far southern vantage point, it would appear to stare
right at you in direct opposition, and seems as thoughit faces the dark,
stormy mountains to the south in just that fashion.  Whatever evil threat
lurks in thosejagged, thundering ranges, this mighty fortress stands
proudly high atop the strong earth in defiance.

East-side of the Front Face of the Keep~
Your on the eastern side standing before the immense, looming stone
wall.  Up high above crossbowmen aim at you from between nooks in the
top of the stone wall.  The keep literally is built right up along the
very edge of the plateau, with only mere inches of bare land between
it and deep descent.  The wind is howling feverishly, whipping likea
whirlwind around the edges of the gigantic corner of the fortress.  Off
the side of the mountain clouds loom not very much higher up then where
you are.  Birds soar alongside the keep and lower as well all up and
down the cliffside above the fertile valley below.

Deep, deep in the foggy woods~
The path reaches a very small clearing between a couple of enormous
trees, and there are completely new paths branching out from this
clearing.  Fog impedes the view down either one, but it is clear that
they all lead completely and utterly away from each other.  Howls and
other animal sounds are floating through the thick dense fog, as well
as the cries of their animal victims.

Southwestern Fork~
This southwestern branch widens out and deadends up against a rock shelf
of some kind, inside of which is housed a vat of toxic looking green,
bubbling glop.  It froths and sizzles menacingly and looks quite hazardous
as it gathers and bubbles, bursting with great splatters everywhere.  To
enter surely seems like sure death.

Northwestern Fork~
This path begins to become clustered with trees and starts to get very
small and crowded, then suddenly opens up into a deadend before a huge
rock pit with a gigantic pool of disgusting, acidic looking green froth.
It bubbles and glops with loud pops and splatters everywhere, sizzling
against the bare rocks when it splatters onto them.

Northern Junction~
This northern path goes into very dark forest and the trees begin to
grow very large but also more and more spread out.  As you continue
along the road eventually the sky breaks through the canopy, and soon
the path is lit by the night time sky.  The moon and stars seem very
inviting and friendly out in these dark, spooky woods, so far from
civilization.  A chill wind blows and freezes your ears, it certainly
doesn't seem like it will be getting any better any time soon.  With
the more spaces in the trees there is alot more room for the wind to
whip and howl through, and it rips and shrieks through the forest,
screaming along and piercing your ears with its banshee-like wail.

Very Deep in the Fog~

slime vats can be seen in puddles and pools inside the exposed rock.

Very Deep in the Fog~
The path continues through this densely fogged forest.  All around
inside the woods in giant gaps in the trees are more of the alkaloidy
acidic green slime puddled and pooled here and there.  It continues
through the forest.  Up ahead the forest seems to dwindle more and
begin to grow more sparse and open.

Very Deep in the Fog~
The air is powerfully toxic here, sharply stinging your sinuses and
throat with every breath.  The sour smell feels intoxicating and you
are soon very lightheaded.  There are only a few very large trees here
and there, but they look very withered, decayed, and dead-like.  There
are lots of rocky acid pools all over the place, bubbling and releasing
horrendous vapors.

A Split in the Path~

Treading between the acid goo~
The small rock walkway is very narrow and perilous.  On either side
is the bubbling green acidic goo, which is bubbling loudly with large
sizzling bubbles.  As if it can sense your presence, the green acid
goo seems to bubble and pop more violently in your presence.  Thick,
toxic clouds of pearly white float lazily over the hot steamy bog of
death.

Before an Ancient Bridge~
The trail comes out from the hellish bog and deadends right at the foot
of a dark, stone bridge, which crosses over a great moat of the nasty
bubbling gray glop.  Standing before the bridge ever vigilant is a fully
armed skeletal warrior, his hollow eyes sleeplessly watching out across
the surroundings.  Behind him is a demented, wicked looking gate of coarse
black iron, completely covered over in a mixture of thick cobwebs, vines,
and rusted chains.  Off in the distance through the what now feels like
toxic mist you can vaguely see the light of torches burning into the pungent
wet air.

Tree of the Elder Druids~
The sidewalk enters a small, rock-laid culdesac that is fenced in.  People
hustle and bustle back on the main road at a constant pace, but inside this
"grove" of sorts it is peaceful, serene.  A couple of people are here and
there throughout the small area, talking and laughing among themselves.  In
the center of the square stands an enormous, ancient tree, wizened from old
age, and very tough and gnarled from a long life.  Its width is about as wide
as a typical room in a house, and it stands less then fourty feet tall, but
very mighty and imposing looking.  Sitting cross-legged before the enormous
champion of nature is a humble but dirty beggar, rocking back and forth with
his arms tucked to his stomach, almost as though in naseau.  He seems to be
muttering rapidly to himself.  Others in the trees presence look at him with
sidelong glances and bizarre looks.  The western side of the small plateau
overlooks the rest of teh village that lies westward, down the rest of the
small hill that the road is running east/west along.  Back east you can see
the cobblestone road turn and wrap northwest around this tree.

On the old stone bridge~
The marsh sizzles and pops below, filling the air with toxic fumes,
which have gathered and formed a pungent mist in the air, floating lazily
like a poisoned cloud of death.  Walking through it is miserable and tough,
as it fills the lungs and singes the eyes, nose, and skin.  Up ahead in the
distance the light of two torches is flickering through the thick fog of
decay, indicating a structure on the other side of this vile moat.  Shrieks
and howls echo in the distance, and every now and again a shrill high pitched
jeer pierces through the darkness.  The bridge itself is very well made,
built of finely cut and what was once very smooth granite, now weathered and
decayed from age.  Thick spiderwebs break off onto your face and body as you
trudge forward, causing quite a nuisance of picking them off yourself.

On the old stone bridge~
The grotesque air continues to choke you with every step, making this
one of the most perilous paths you've ever treaded.  The marsh below
froths and wallops quite noisily, as if anticipating life above its
deathly surface.  Out in the surrounding land beyond the moat of stench
and decay the shrieking has only grown louder and wilder, and from high
up in the air coming from the end of the bridge very loud roars are
emanating.  This place certainly does not bode well at all.

Before an immense keep~
The air finally starts to become somewhat normal again, but still maintains
the vile odor put off by the bog.  Looming up before you constructed of great
big heavy granite blocks that are very weathered and darkened from time is a
very ominous, gothic fortress.  This keep is not as big as most castles you
have come across, but it seems stout and resilient, very well built, like the
bridge was, and it is only roughly sixty feet wide, and looming up into the
sky beyond the initial retaining wall is a great tower, generally square
shaped but also mismatched and jutting out in odd angles much like the rest
of this gothic fortress.  Two immense torches burn in their brackets mounted
on the sides of the immense wooden door, which is inlaid with iron and made
of very thick, very large wooden boards.  It seems quite reinforced and to
have never been made war upon.  Up above the wall, circling the tower, are
vile wyverns, gargoyles, and other flighty creatures of the night, that may
choose to descend and strike at a moments notice.

The Foyer~
The grand oak doorway leads into a very large yet humble foyer, with
marble flooring and great bleached-glass windows that you can not see
through on the other side.  Torches flare to life at your entering the
room.  Great giant cobwebs streak across the room making an inredibly
sticky net that grips you tightly as you attempt to walk through.  The
spiders bite and nip as you destroy their home.  The glass doors to the
North seem the only way out of this room.

East of the Fortress Entrance~
The dirt just deadends into the bog on either side of you except for
the front face of the keep.  High up the foul creatures of the night
stir, and wicked shrieks and howls of beasts emanate from within the
great stone walls of this place.  There are no windows that you can

West of the Fortress Entrance~
The keep extends to the edge of the land, and beyond is the vile moat
and the boglands beyond.  There are no windows, and the keep is quite
imposing and ominous against the sky.  It's great granite blocks loom
high into the night, and foul beasts fly high up ahead around the structure
and tower.  The vile smells of the bog are quite strong right here.

A very long hallway~
The doors lead into a very long, exquisite hall.  Once-lush red carpeting
rolls outward across the floor, covered over in the same thick layer of
dust that everything else in this place is.  Great, gigantic spider webs
streak thickly across from wall to wall, ceiling to floor, their giant
inhabitants sitting precariously, stroking their drooling mandibles with
their giant, armored fore-legs.  Lining the walls are grand tapestries and
magnificent paintings, one after the other in alternating fashion.  All have
the pungent thick mildew and dust on them from the centuries of solitude, but
underneath it all you can still make out that they are vivid, brilliant works,
displaying kings and queens of old and their families, as well as magnificent
scenes of battle and of righteous miracles.  At the very end of the hall is
another grand oak door, this one also heavily engraved like the first one,
however, giant-spider central and the sticky webs of doom have a concert of
death planned out for the likes of any ill-fated intruder.

First Floor~
The main axis of the first floor of this ancient stone tower.  There
are archways leading away into each main cardinal direction, as well
as a stone spiral staircase spiraling up and into a stone-walled walk-way,
which leads up and away from the first floor.  The same molded red carpet
lies across the floor here, and unlit torches hang mounted to the walls.
What sounds like a deep, slow moaning, interspersed here and there with
growls as well, seems to be emanating from every exit, promising trouble
no matter which way you decide to fare.

Supply Room~
The rundown remains of what used to be a maintenance supply room for
the tower.  Ancient ceramic buckets housing long ago decayed cleaning
tools line the walls, as well as old unused wash basins and other elements
of custodial engineering.  There is only one tiny little window up on one
wall where the ceiling and the wall meet, whoever had to spend most their
time in here must have been one unhappy fellow.

Servants Chambers~
What used to be the residence chambers of the castle servants, now it,
like the rest of the place, is long unkept and molded over.  Beds line
the walls, each with their own night stand, oil lamp, and wardrobe.
Windows line the walls as well, though they and everything else is
covered with the thick layer of dust and scum.  This room seems rather
plain compared to the rest of what you have seen, and there is nothing
of any further interest really.

Kitchen~
The remains of an ancient kitchen are here, but are all now rather useless.
All the knives are quite dull and aged over, everything is just too old to
matter anymore.  At one point in time this may have been quite a bustling
place, with lots of cooks to tend to its massive ovens and lots of people,
maybe a giant family, to inhabit the enormous table over in the dining room
section.  It's really quite a sight how everything is still in perfect place,
fully furnished, as though someone should be home to enjoy it, if it wasn't
all dusty, dirty, and decrepit.  Something fishy is definitely afoot here.

Flying up the keep face~
There is just you, the wall, and the sky as you soar up in front of
the immense keep face.  The great stone structure spans out massively
to each side quite imposiingly.  The air is filled with the vile reaking
stench of the decaying bog below, which has accumulated up here over time.
Up ahead, over the top of the wall, vile evil creatures fly around the
tower and the tops of the keep, patrolling it and keeping an eye out at
all times for their master.

Cresting the Wall~
The front face of the keep ends and levels off into a flat ceiling which
stretches out and makes a foundation for the immense tower which sits atop
it.  There are gargoyles, wyverns, and other foul flying beasts all around,
just waiting for a chance to taste fresh flesh.  High above, perched at the
very top of the tower, sits a great winged beast, seemingly made of stone,
with great head tucked between its massive wings, which it has draped around
itself like a great cloak.  One vicious looking red eye pokes out from a
crack between the immense wings, keeping vigilant sentry at all times. These
beasts seem to have built up an immunity to the thick, green-tinted air that
makes up the atmosphere here, and fighting them in these conditions certainly
will be a challenge.

Above the keep proper~
The ceiling of the keep is made of the same massive stone as the rest
of the place, and it is practically like a floor upon which to stand.
Here and there the tops of support collumns jut up through the ceiling,
the collumns making the scene appear almost like a stone forest, the
collumns serving as lifeless, branchless trees, standing in proud
antithesis to their natural counterparts.  Winged wyverns, gargoyles, and
other nasties patrol all over the place.  The air is vile and toxic,
choking your lungs and stinging your eyes with every second that goes by.

Above the keep~
Wyverns, imps, and other flying nasties swoop down and attempt to
slash at you every few steps, and the threat of warfare is constant while
traversing the rooftop of this mighty stone keep.  The thick pungent air
makes it hard to see very far in either direction, serving as a thick,
green tinted mist that resembles toxic pea soup.  The edge has no barrier
of any kind to keep you from falling over should you lose your balance
from the fumes!

Above the keep~
The pops of the bog below persist here and there, but are more or less
being drowned out now and replaced by the shrieks and bellows of the
foul creatures that fly all around you.  Making out wickedly sharp talons,
fangs, and even wings, it is obvious that these are no mere amateurs to
be trifled with, but desperate, hungry, vicious monsters, who will stop
at nothing for a meal, something to help the painful hunger in their stomach
caused from a life of solitude in this disgusting place.  While focusing on
not completely passing out and risking suffocating atop the keep, you realize
you must also constantly fight nearly every step of the way against these
vicious monstrosities of the death-filled night.

Above the keep~
The thick air is making this adventure less and less appealing with every
breath.  Why you ever decided to come across that bridge and come up here
seems more and more like one of the stupidest decisions you've made in a
fortnight.  An intense ringing comes and goes and when it is in effect
you can hardly hear and it seems you are deaf: this air certainly can
not be good at all for you if it is affecting your ears in such a way.
Every now and then you think you can hear the laughter of small children
having fun off in the distance... uh-oh, hallucinations are kicking in.
You have to get out of this fucking hell hole as soon as possible, or your
either going to die or be left with some serious brain and body issues.
A low, growling laughter chuckles from off to the side, and you turn to see
an enormous gargoyle standing at the base of the tower, leaning up against
the massive stone structure in eager wait.  It reaches one muscled arm up
and with its dagger-like fingernail tucks its massive black hair back behind
its pointy green-skinned ear, and continues to laugh its menacing, almost
snooty, laugh.  Suddenly the laughing stops, and he lets out an intense roar
of rage, signaling that there is no escape for you, that combat begins now.

Above the keep~
A rather large, brutish looking gargoyle is pacing back and forth on
this side of the tower, seemingly anxious for something.  Upon noticing
your arrival, his pacing stops and his face breaks out into an enormous
grin of insane delight.  It is clear now what he has been waiting for: You!
With a great, bellowing roar, it thrusts its arms and wings out wide and
widens its feet into a fighting stance, then squats down and begins to
pound its chest while maintaining a resounding roar. Other creatures have
ceased to swoop down while you have been in this ones presence, they must
recognize not to interfere, or they will have to deal with this monstrosity
as well.  With a mighty swath of its wings, it quickly drops to the ground
into a runners stance, then instantly takes off, charging full speed towards
you, its vicious rotten fangs snapping wildly in hunger!

Above the keep~
The air is especially thick at this the back side of the keep, which
is closer to the biggest, foulest part of the entire bog: the center
of the lake of death.  Every breath is piercing, stinging your insides
and burning every fiber of your being.  Through squinted eyes, you can
barely make out winged creatures of evil soaring around you, their
screeching cackles of confident laughter driving you to newfound heights
of madness, as these beasts actually seem to think they stand a chance
with their atmospheric advantage.  Giant pops and other disgusting sounds
created by the bog bubbles resonate up and over the side of the keep wall,
breaking through into the night so loudly that they overpower the loud cackles
and howls of the night creatures.

Above the keep~
The central back end of the rooftop certainly is a unique spot, to say the
least.  With the immense tower cutting off your view of the way out of this
accursed bog, and the only directions that are visible to see, east, north,
and west, is nothing but nasty green vapor as far as you can see before
appearing to be like a thick wall surrounding the boundaries of this vile
place.  All over the enormous, disgusting lake enormous bubbles blow up and
explode out of the froth, and some spots seem to house endless streams of
disgusting bubbles, slightly smaller then the sporadic giants, but all
constantly adding to the already beyond putrid air.  The long-dead branches
of long-ago fallen trees and even a blackened, dead stump stick up here and
there thruoughout the immense bog, long ago having been dessicated by the
nasty slop.  In the center of the keep, standing before the stone wall of
the large tower, is an enormous gargoyle, this one much larger then any others
you have fought thus far.  At least twelve feet tall, it stands with its arms
crossed and its eyes directed down, right at you.  Its wild mangy hair hangs
long and unkempt over its massive unclothed torso, and down over its dirty ass
loin cloth.  Its sharp-fanged mouth curves up into a malicious smile of hungry
anticipation, eager for the coming deathmatch, and possible meal.  It stands
in the thick green mist, completely unphased by the toxic clouds of poison.

Above the keep~
Approaching the back side of the keep, which is butted up against the
central, main part of the vile bog of death, the air becomes noticeably
more pungent.  The sounds of the bog below also grow much louder, as the

are much bigger and stinkier then before.  Every once in a while a giant
bubble of toxicity somehow manages to float up and out of the bog, wobbling
its way up the keep side and over the top, making sure to pop as close to
you as possible, almost as though the bog is conciously aiming them to you.
Constant is the piercing shrieks, howls, laughter, and growls of the vicious
sentries that fly all around you in every direction.  This combined with
the poisonous conditions is enough to make anyone dizzy.
