You've found the path to Luskan! This well traveled path
reveals that the city is just over the hills, about a mile
north. Many stories have been spread across the realm about
the "City of Sails", as Luskan is dubbed. Anticipation courses
through your veins as you start your journey along the road.

Before the Gates~
A rather small seaport compared to the huge
cities in the south, Luskan houses just over
fifteen thousand citizens. The gates are well 
guarded, and they do not readily welcome

Luskan's streets are tightly packed with two
and three story buildings, a reflection of the
desperation of the people here to huddle within
the safety of the city's high walls, away from the 
ever-present dangers of the savage wilderness.

Entrance to the Hosttower of the Arcane~
A landmark of wonder marks the very center of the 
City of Sails, a strange building that emanates 
a powerful aura of magic. Unlike any other
structure seen, the Hosttower seems literally
a tree of stone, boasting five tall spires
the largest being the central, and the 
other four, equally high, growing out
of the main trunk with the graceful 
curving arc of an oak.

A Dimunitive Laboratory~
&zThe archmage sits at a huge and ancient stone table, so large
that a minotaur could lay down upon it, strech out his full height,
and still have room to spare. Runes and spidery writing upon the books
lining the walls glow through the dust gathered on thier spines. Glass
bottles and jars of twisted design stand on tables around the sides of
the chamber, their bright colored contents bubbling and boiling with

An Underground Quadrant~
&zThis shadowy underground antichamber seems much larger than
it can possibly be. Its hard to determine whether it is the chamber
itself that seems larger or yourself that seems smaller whenever you
enter it. The walls are decorated with woven pictures of fanciful
beasts and hideous demons, each of them rare and beautiful-or rare
and ghastly. To either side of the central aisle are mighty columns,
with entrances at the base of each. Great gargoyles with thier wings
spread arch over every doorway. The statues' leering gazes seem to be
following your every move. A large stone spiral staircase leads up to
the ground level.

Rat Alley~
A shuffle in the warehouse above you alerts 
your feelings that eyes are upon you. You cant 
help but to believe someone has a crossbow
aimed at your head. While rounding a mound 
of broken planks, you see a slender figure
leaning against on of the alleyway's walls
with their cloak pulled tightly against 
the chill of the evening mist. They might
prove to hold valuable information.

Inside the Hosttower~
Nowhere can any sign of the mason be seen among this beautiful
stronghold. It is obvious to any knowlegable viewer that magic
not physical labor, had constructed it. The Archmage, 
undisputed Master of the Hosttower, resides in the 
central tower, while the other four house the
wizards closest in the line of succession.
Each of these lesser towers, representing 
the four compass directions, dominates 
a different side of the trunk.
