I was recently a Reference Librarian at the
Paul Robeson Library, Rutgers University- Camden, New Jersey.
My previous experience in higher education was serving
as the Information Services Librarian at Eastern University
and as Office Systems Administrator/Educational Resources
Senior Coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania. I
conducted research on the use of a variety of technologies
to enhance instruction in higher education. These technologies
include the use of the web, virtual social worlds, social media
tools, and digital badges. Early work at the University of
Pennsylvania brought some of the very first web-based instructional
materials to the School of Dental Medicine. Online courseware
supported classwork in pathology, histology and board reviews.
In addition to my work as the library system administrator and
webmaster, my work at Eastern University saw the development
of a virtual social world to support information literacy
for nursing students, an online library research course for
graduate business students and information literacy tutorials
incorporating digital badges for all incoming freshmen.

I am an old guy who lives in Philadelphia, PA with my wife
and 4 evil cats. I enjoy scifi books, movies, etc. I will
dabble in history, philosophy and religous studies. I enjoy biking,
photography and eating pizza. I enjoy reading a good phlog too.

I am trying to remember all the great things that I loved about
the Internet before Mosaic and Netscape messed things up.
