We had our first snow this morning. I have spent most of the day
running different small linuxes on a couple old laptops. The one I'm
currently posting from is an IBM Thinkpad Iseries from the late 90's.
It's got a Celeron 500Mhz processor and 128M of RAM. I've decided to
run it without a graphical desktop. Slitaz 4.0 loram will boot up
quickly and connect the ethernet card automatically. 128M is plenty of
overhead for this OS.

Puppy 4.0 and Damn Small Linux both run pretty well with a graphical
desktop on this machine. The speed is still good.

I just prefer the zippiness of having no lag at all at the commandline.

Cheers.
