I think in terms of systems, Brock. Every system provides
constraints. I can't split my atoms off and rejoin them on Mars
at will. This doesn't not take away my free will. I'm given two
choices. I decide to decide between them. That's not taking away
my free will. I'm given two choices. I decide to do something
else. That's not proof of my free will but it might as well be.
From a pragmatic standpoint, it's free will. == You choose to
believe in determinism via the conduits provided to you by
others, you can do so. But were I a judge and you committed a
crime, I would treat your criminal act as free will unless
proven otherwise and it would have to be one heck of a proof. ==
when someone who is a determinist gets upset, say
"Deterministically, my timing was determined. Not my fault."
