I just had a birthday yesterday. 44 years. Been here 44 years so
far. I've been bringing attention to rights of kids/teens since
I was 14 years old. Went all-in at 18-25 on the early Internet.
Through the years, I supported the causes within youth rights
that matter to me; a sense of personal empowerment, coping
skills, making the most of what you can with the limited
resources available to you and most importantly, attempting to
convey a sense that not only should you not be discriminated
against because you're young but that, should you make it to
ages no longer considered young, but middle or old, you should
not participate in that discrimination yourself. I never
stopped. The abuses of power of bigs to smalls never stopped
being important and I do what I can. I've had to accept a lot of
things in the process that I couldn't successfully fight.
Parenting style, the education system - some things are
immensely huge yet changes can be made by eroding the issues
from within so that they eventually cease to exist. A solution
doesn't lead to a us/them mindset: a solution results in "There
were once groups fighting here? How strange..."
