I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been worried about this. I
saw him talk about this as part of a longer talk and hoped for a
short version and here it is.
   *
Basically this: 1000 years down the line, all this stuff we're
doing: where will it be? Will future machines be able to run the
operating system that can run the software that can read the
   data that we create?
   *
As more stuff is online only, you might think this solves this
   but it doesn't.
   *
Corporations come and go. Software gets locked in 100 yr
intellectual property issues and even when open source, can just
   *poof* disappear.

Is it possible that our time will be the "lost period" of
   history in the
   future?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GV0A82TCrf0
