You can. You will. You are.
I keep my eyes open for positive signs of change. I stay in the
trenches, seeking opportunities to highlight what's good when I
   find it.

For example, a year ago, I posted a comment about the value of
Youtube and educators (in this case, VSauce), who are reaching
out with the best they have in making subjects interesting and
approachable. It's supplementary education that these kids WANT
to get. Schools aren't doing it as they are doing it now, and
   haven't.

It's on his video, "Why are we morbidly curious?".

But what's interesting is not what I said, it's the PASSIONATE
replies from young people, all craving for that something
   "different" than what they're getting.

They'll likely be graduated and out of school by the time the
kinds of changes necessary are visible to the outside world, but
their passion is there NOW... the same passion I had when I was
their age, and still have today.

These kids are unleashed on the 'net, more opportunities than we
could imagine, in so many directions. Opportunities to help them
become better people, know more, think more clearly, be able to
handle emotional stressors in life... they abound on a
   day-to-day basis.

So, I try to find opportunities to help. Turning little switches
here and there and hoping a changed mind will self-organize into
greater and greater things in THEIR places, wherever they find
themselves... and help improve their world... not just while
they're in school, but through life.

I never found an enveloping set of principles or groups to
become a part of in my efforts, so I go alone as best I can,
stay exposed and open and I know some good will come of it and
it seems much already has even in my lifetime.
