   It's a form of energy. When is energy static?
   The retina connection is simple: Even when we use machines to
   measure it for us, they're acting as substitute sensors that
   translate it into numbers that we EVENTUALLY process with our
   retinas.
   I _suppose_ one could process light or the data from measuring
   light with their ears too.
   I know the standard definition. It's dull and makes light into a
   static 'thing' which isn't not. Light is part of a process that
   doesn't stop.
