Wording of questions on quizzes comes first though. VERY hard to
write unbiased questions. Very hard. General Semantics is good
for research on that. There's some early research on the
psychology of proper polling science from the 1930s and 1940s
when their usage blossomed and they started to see the problem.
It was in FDRs administration that believed that an educated
public could vote with reason when presented unbiased choices
scientifically. You're thinking along those same lines.
In contrast to that is, Edward Bernays, who believed in appeal
to emotion for "the masses". and influenced ALL of 20th and 21st
century public relations campaigns, news media, entertainment,
commercials... etc. The two forces dominated back and forth
through the 20th century and even today.
