Well, I don't know anything about magic, except special effects
I do for little videos here and there, nor do I know what
magical thinking entails. [cause and effect while ignoring the
   middle maybe?]

The repeatability of the scientific method does deserve our
   trust.*

But "only'? There are other methods which also deserve our
   trust.

Engineering for example. The engineering method is SIMILAR TO
the scientific method but it includes a few more factors than
   Science does.*

For example, heuristics are very important in Engineering. Did
it work before? Yes. Do we know why? Do we have a theory?
   Sometimes not. Yet, it works.

Heuristics are valid because of their repeatability but they're
not part of the scientific method. They're a part of the
   engineering method.
