I've found multiple intelligences to be _useful_, just as I've
found myers briggs _useful_, all the while knowing that it
doesn't really tell anything much, if anything at all.

It works as a form of self-identity. Someone who identifies as a
visual learner _will_ look more. A person who identifies with
   auditory learner will listen more.

   Similarly with personality types.

So to me, that's its value. Not as a diagnostic tool but rather
as a self-identification tool. If I know someone says, "I am an
introspective learner, then whether or not there is some
objective truth value to it, it doesn't really matter. By
believing it is so, they're more likely to pay more attention to
   introspective things.

Priming. #1 psychological tool in all psychology tests and also,
pretty much the _only_ real trick in psychology that actually
   works.
