That's so awesome that you found something that he instantly
connects with. I suspect i have ADD, not the HD (I guess it's
Low-Def*tongue emoticon*) - and for me, Puff the Magic Dragon
was mine. I -was- Little Jackie Paper. (Draper) - although the
part about the Dragon's live forever but no-so-little boys was
wrong. The guy that wrote the original poem was 19 yrs old when
he wrote it and I think, like a lot of ppl who enter the 18+
years, a feeling of "grow-up time" pressure hits you.

But it's only later, perhaps in your 30s, that you start to
realize "Wait a minute... I never grew up. My friends never grew
up. My boss never grew up... WHERE'S THE GROWNUPS?".

So, that part of the song was wrong. But the cartoon with the
marvelous Burgess Meredith was perfect for me. Perhaps today's
kids might find the cartoon style and music weird... but then
again, I thought the whole thing was weird when *I* saw it as a
kid... yet it had me enthralled just the same. It probably looks
even stranger to today's generation*tongue emoticon

Somebody should do a remake of it.

PS - notice how my train of thought goes off in a different
direction; yeah - like the old Blues Clue's show - "A Clue! A
   Clue!"*smile emoticon

Parenting, I'll say it again, you're doing it right, Heather.
