Unlike some of the esoteric things [and I've tried 'em] - just
   looking up from what you're doing, noticing the chair you are
   sitting in, the motors running around you, the sound of the
   lights (if they make noise) - just plain ol' awareness of "now"
   is enough to reset whatever needs reset.

   Just takes a couple of seconds.

   I don't like staying in that "present" moment for *too* long
   because it's addictive, but I carry a bit of that present into
   every 6-second phonological loop that I can, a subtext,
   undercurrent reminder that, "Yes, I'm REALLY here", even if I
   have to mentally call up a map of the globe, find myself on it
   with a big sign that says, "YES, KEN, YOU _ARE_ HERE".
