Well, one of the things I liked about Schering was that their
   scientists were about a 50/50 ratio of male/female. There was a
   HUGE push of Women-in-Science in the 70s/80s from what I
   remember reading about years ago, and it's likely it stemmed
   from that.

   Anyway, by the time *I* came there in the mid 1990s, there were
   about the same amount of women and men who were scientists
   there.

   They also had a nice policy of NOT forcing retirement upon the
   old. I remember a few 80+ year old scientists. One guy just
   rolled around on skates (he was there long enough to be allowed
   some eccentricities). In that position (years later, I went into
   a different department as systems analyst) I was just a
   secretary in a temp position, but it was awesome seeing the
   culture at work. So you can keep your sexism.
   I've seen worlds where it's not there anymore. tongue emoticon
