I've read that she's as tragically and hopelessly obsessed with the Joker in the same way that the Joker is tragically and hopelessly obsessed with Batman.... [and the way Batman is tragically and hopelessly obsessed with fighting crime]. The thing about Harley Quinn that is disturbing to me, is the same thing that makes that "50 Shades of Gray" (and nearly _all_ romance novels) so disturbing to me... ..is people think this is romantic. They think "this is love". Sociopath + batshit crazy. And those moments you see the girl who loves to be abused (because she thinks "This is love!") actually WAKE UP and say, "No one gets to lay a hand on me ever again."... your heart breaks because... she knows. At some level... she knows. But then... she falls back into it again. : batshit crazy is right. But as you know JH : People ship anything with anything. [1]AC04 Well, for their sake, I hope they never get into a relationship with a human. Their role models suck. * I [know someone] who is into romance novels. Same idea; the sociopathic twisted idea of "romance and love". Anyway, never married, never dated, she likes to break up relationships between real humans by gossiping at just the right times, setting up situations where they begin to hate each other. A criminal mastermind, really. Very subtle in her ways because she's pleasant and friendly and helpful. But I see it. I can't do anything about it either. She's like those girls who ship Harley + the Joker. Scary ppl. I've seen ppl ship Kirby + Lucario. Genderless happy hungry blob + a epic batman dog. Now THAT'S shipping. They have a future. But not Joker and Harley. Worst thing is, it's not like the franchise can kill her off. She supports a huge fanbase of ppl like that. Huge fanbase. And... they're everywhere. *sigh*. [I'm not a shipper... but I don't have a problem with shipping. It's usually harmless enough... but shipping that encourages abusive relationships _really_ needs to stop. It probably won't but it should]. thanks for bringing up the topic. Been meaning to write about it for a while, and now I did. Sorry for the tl;dr there] Agreed 10,000%. It's an addiction that starts in 3rd/4th grade, never stops. It's related to meangirl syndrome as well. Starts around the same time. Never ends. Equally twisted ideas about "what's normal". [not that I'm an expert of 'normal'. I'm a fan of 'be yourself'. I just don't like abusive things]. * References Visible links 1. http://icopiedyou.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/AC04.jpg
