In the USA, we see things from an American-centered point of view.* We barely even consider other countries.* We tend to compare solely against ourselves. Homeless in the USA in a major city is practically riches in comparison to living conditions in some places in the world. I'm grateful I have no personal experience with true poverty.* Keeping your head above water is still swimming.* We just forget to be grateful for what we have and instead focus on how much more others have.
