I wrote a paper for an English class I was taking back in 2000,
while I was working for Schering-Plough (a corporation). My rant
piece was exactly on this. The work expectations don't match
   reality at all.
   [1]http://icopiedyou.com/the-fantasy-world-of-the-workplace I
got an A-, although I'm a little embarrassed by some of it. [I
was into a religious thing at the time, hence the emphasis on
religious stuff] but the point is: Work expectations are a
fantasy land where people don't get sick, people don't have kids
or spouses or LIVES, or other interests. Where the weather
doesn't happen... and the whole set up is completely NOT HUMAN.

Not that much can/will be done about it. But it's a
fundamentally abusive system that I hope future generations look
back on and say, "omg they *really* were backwards in 2015!"
   and... they will.
