If I wrote fiction, it would quickly move back and forth between
   utter hopeless despair and unflinching success and acceptance,
   with the whole thing ending up being an in-your-face
   Lesson-For-The-Reader-Morality_Tale, whether I intended it to be
   or not.

   Despair is mostly your choice (sadness is not always your
   choice) whereas success has little to do with your effort, but
   somewhat, and life satisfaction is entirely unrelated to either
   despair or success, although it is sometimes, would be my theme.
   I doubt it would find success
