## HK4KM - About / Acerca de

My name is Guillermo. I live out in the country now, 50 KM from the city of Medellín in Colombia, South America.

I've been a licensed amateur radio operator since 2010.  Mi novice call was HJ4GSL. I then upgraded to first class as HK4GSL and finally to my present advanced call, HK4KM.

QRP has been my mode of operation for many years now.  I like contesting (yes, in the low power QRP category!), chasing DX, telegraphy and digital modes, as well as kit and antenna building and trying out anything new in amateur radio.

I like to share information with fellow hams and enjoy receiving tips and information about our hobby.  Another of my interests is operating systems, specially BSD variants, Linux and other very different ones.  I have worked in IT for over 30 years.

Mi nombre es Guillermo.  Vivo en el campo a 50 KM de la ciudad de Medellín en Colombia.

He sido radioaficionado desde 2010.  Me inicié con el indicativo HJ4GSL.  Luego ascendí a licencia de Primera con el indicativo HK4GSL.  Posteriormente pasé a licencia Avanzada y cambié indicativo al actual, HK4KM.

Hace años opero QRP desde Medellín y desde el campo.  Me gusta experimentar con todos los modos de nuestro pasatiempo y disfruto participando en concursos, persiguiendo expediciones y DX.  Tambien disfruto construyendo kits y antenas.

Me gusta compartir información de este pasatiempo con los otros radioaficionados.  Otro de mis intereses es el de los sistemas operativos para computadores, especialmente las variantes de BSD, Linux y otros.  He trabajado en sistemas por mas de 30 años.
