Insurance Company Hostages

Insurance companies are holding America hostage.
They've elevated the liability so honest people can't do
an honest job anymore. Heck you can't tie your shoe
without insurance companies having their say.
I'll give you an example. The insurance inspector
stopped by my house one day to approve a propane stove
installation. On his way out he snapped a picture of a
tree, that was about forty feet from my house. It stands
among other trees in natural vegetation that's never been
plowed under for a lawn outside of tree forts and a
swing. A couple of weeks later I get a letter that my
insurance will not be renewed if I don't take down the
tree.
I spent about a week investing every spare minute I
could researching a new insurance company and I even read
some insurance code and talked to a lawyer. No go. The
insurance industry was locked up tight and they all
agreed the tree would have to come down or I might as
well as buy my house again with cash for the premiums
several agents suggested.
To make matters worse, this is a beautiful old Maple
tree, providing cool refreshing shade to part of my yard,
a swing hot summer nights, and a marvelous adventure for
kids of all ages to climb. Plus the tree is northwest of
the house and prevailing winds are from the southwest.
The tree is healthy and doesn't lean and even if it was
to fall, ninety nine times out of a hundred the blow
would push it northeast away from the house, but do you
think there was any insurance brokers intelligent enough
to take a look at recorded weather events. They had
their books and they couldn't put their nose anyplace
else when it came to insurance statistics. It just takes
once to put a dent in insurance company profits in order
for the computerized industry to pull out the statistic
for all of us to live by and we don't have a say.
Another example, is years ago I manufactured a wood
stove. I was renting a house on some acerage where I had
room and space to do it. The business was starting to
take off and I was starting to make a living at it.
Then one day the landlord told me he would have to up his
insurance to a million plus coverage if I was going to
manufacture wood stoves there. I offered to pay after I
sold enough stoves, but he needed the premium up front.
I couldn't afford it so now if you want a wood stove like
that, they sell them at Cabella's manufactured in China.
Insurance companies are holding America hostage, while
they trash it with some of their cousins like AIG, who
speculated, illegally, on the demise of the American
consumer. What's worse is these little golf games and
luxury vacations and extravagant meetings for our
politicians has swayed the vote for things like mandatory
insurance. There probably aren't to many tricks the
insurance industry has missed to squeeze more profits out
of us.
The solution is to live without the safety net.
Every person should be responsible for their own actions.
If they buy a cup of coffee at McDonalds and it's to hot,
they shouldn't drink it. Instead, one law suite and now
we all have to drink tepid coffee.
That's not even a good example. Look at what
insurance companies are doing to manufacturing. The
liability is so great in America, that industry has
packed up and gone overseas, in a large part to avoid the
liability they face in the U.S.
Granted there's more to it than just insurance
companies, but they've capitalized on it, at our expense.
Not just dollars and cents, but our freedom and
prosperity. If you want a strong economy in America
again, ban insurance companies and limit small business
liability. You'll see amazing growth in our economy and
the good will that goes along with it.
