Brakes! What brakes?
====================

At Wednesday I was on a bicycle trip. Some 130 km in relatively flat
terrain (the middle parts was in Nizky Jesenik mountain so ther e were
some hills). A very nice trip except the strong headwind.

I was on my Alex Moulton AM-ATB bicycle which is a (arguably world
first) fully suspended mountain bike (1988). It rides extremely well
but has a few special details. One of them is the front brake - a
massive device normally used on BMX bikes. Its main disadvantage is the
fact that it is not possible to install the mudguard between the brake
and the wheel. It worked very well so far.

On that trip it failed. There was a short (~2.5 km) train in gravel,
dirt and forest (randomly mixed). Everything worked well here bat just
after the return to normal surface the brake get jammed.

I disassembled the brake, tried to figure it what is wrong but only
managed to fix it in an opened position. So I ran the last 42 km just
with one working brake (the rear one is - surprisingly - the normal
center-pull caliper one; fortunately it is powerful enough).

Today I completely disassembled the thing, reassembled, tried to alter
some spacers and so on. Nothing helped. Then I have tried to play wit
the opposite end. And it started to work! Unfortunately, I have no clue
what was wrong..
