UKNC issues
===========

My UKNC is a great computer. A PDP-11 with 4 (albeit emulated)
floppies, the serial port is nice even if it has only 64 kB of RAM.

My problem is the screen. At home I have only one compatible device: an
old LCD TV. It is not a bad device at all: it has some 12" (or so)
screen (I think it is 1024x768) and a lot of inputs (an antenna input,
a SCART, a VGA and the audio-video-sync inputs, and a YUV thing, too).

My Apple II can use the antenna input (with a RF modulator) or the
video input (without use of sync and audio ones). My Elektronika
Bk-0010.1 can use the SCART. The UKNC has an adapter with two options:
the video-sync-audio combination and a 3-cable RGB output. So I use the
video only (using sync makes no difference and the audio is of no use:
except it causes the TV's speakers to make noise). The problem is that
I cannot see complete image from the UKNC. First two or three columns
are off the screen (and presumably some last ones, too). The problem is
that the TV has not image adjustment functionality at all. There is
something for the TV input put not for the video.

So I decided to try the SGI O2 it has an analog video input (among
others). But something is wrong here. I am usually able to capture the
initial picture from the device (usually deformed or incomplete) and
the "Live Input" freezes. I have had the same problem when I have
connected the Apple II. But (if I'm not mistaken) it sort of worked
with the Playstation 2 some time ago. So I am not sure what is wrong
here.

I should finally reinstall my SGI Indy to try to use it for this
purpose. But for now I'm only able to see a part of image on the
UKNC...
