Trip to Prague ============== I have had to visit two Czech cities: Pardubice (it was lat week) and our capital, Prague. In both cases it was a work-related visit but I of course many of my colleagues are also my friends and I have met some of them after rather long time. Today it has been much better visit that it was in the Pardubice last week (I explained it the reasons one of older posts). I visited my colleagues at the Czech Technical University in Prague and the I attended a conference related to assessment of research organisations. Both parts were rather interesting. I was more happy when I was the University as we discussed our future cooperation and other common topics. Now I have been on y way home. I always use state railways (their Pendolino trains) - I like their individual seats with table big enough for my laptop. After train upgrade there are easily available a 220V power outlets (it also incorporates 2 USB ports). In-train WiFi network includes (among others) a music portal. Now I'm listening old Slovak songs (70~90' music I think) and I'm writing my post. I'm too tired to be able to make any real work. They "upgraded" their food offers (it can be ordered on-line) by removing of breakfast menus but added some interesting main curses. I have tried one of them (a rolled port variation) and it was surprisingly good. There was no time to get any normal food during the whole day so it is very nice to get so good food here (even if it is slightly expensive). In Prague itself I used the Prague Metro. Nothing unusual here. It worked as expected. The conference was in a building near the Wenceslaw Square. There are some informations about demonstrations at this square on local news servers. Maybe they moved fast to another place because I saw n one (I don't consider the Russian-speaking and Chinese tourists to be demonstrators). I tried to buy something in local KFC (for some reason I'm doing this always when I am in Prague and have no time to visit anything better) but there was too much people. Written on the GPD Pocket.
