Hardware
========

As you may know, I have got an used ViewSonic VP2030b LCD. As I wrote
some time ago it came in a sorry condition (broken plastics and so). So
I glued them and secured them with a transparent tape. It is not nice
but the device works, at least. It's 20" with resolution 1600x1200
which is great. I use it as an external screen for my Lenovo X61s
notebook (when it serves as my second desktop).

Unlike others [1] I have no plan to get a modern UNIX workstation. At
the moment it is outside my budget, unfortunately. But the Talos looks
like excellent machine, I must say. But I still use SGI machines (the
O2 for most of time but also the Indigo). Of course, I understand that
the MIPS is dead so the POWER can be the only future possibility.

I also have some MIPS-based PDA devices: the Ben NanoNote (which is
still fine) and the Agenda VR3. I thought that the Agenda cannot be
connected to any SGI workstation as it requires a capable PPP server on
the workstation side and such thing was not available under thee IRIX.
But it looks like the PPP server can be used on the VR3 side [4] which
make thing much easier. I have to try it.

I'm also expecting arrival of my new Gemini PDA [2]. I did an
impractical decision to get the WiFi-only version. But most of people
selected the 4G+WiFi version so the WiFi-only machines will be made in
one batch in May (initially I have got information than my machine will
be delivered in April but now the Checker [3] says that it will be
delivered at the end of May). So I'll have to wait. I probably don't
need this machine too much (I already have some Android devices at home
and my GPD Pocket is much better suited for the role of a tiny Linux
laptop).
